Hopefully he improves more and also the coordinators need to let him sling it around opens up the offense being aggressive.

The great players *never* stop working on their game. That's what makes them great. At least Blake has the "want to" which is more than a lot of others.

That will never happen as long as marrone is the coach and hacket is the OC. you ppl need to realise they want to run to win, this team will never be wide open new orleans type offense as long a marone is still the coach.
And that’s fine. Only 1 QB and coach can actually run what NO runs. It’s extremely difficult. They’ve also been doing it for how long?

Last year was the first year of Hackett and Blake. I’m sure they will add new things to the offense.

Meanwhile, the 'one-year wonder' Jaguars implode due to the fact that the team is doing nothing to improve the erratic quarterback position.

The frustration with being associated with an 'owner's pick' quarterback is being ignored.

Cue 'Claggart's aria' already.

Do you actually believe the crap that you write?
"Still needs to learn how to throw after 4 seasons. Figures."

Ok, Uncle Rico. I bet y'all woulda won state in high school too if coach would have let you play in the 4th quarter. Go away....Blake is our guy and he cares. He's a winner and I love it.

I get the sentimental feelings. He's tough and gritty, he went the AFC Championship game. I'm so warm and giddy inside now. Please Blake, be our QB forever.

At least Uncle Rico has a quicker, tighter throwing motion.
Again who was Blake throwing too last year? He had no real tight end receiving threat, NO #1 or even a #2 recevier on the field, and a bunch of rookies. Get Blake some weapons and lets see where this goes.
Blake had a rookie RB, LT, and 2 of his top WR were rookies. A Rob was out all year, Hurns was hurt all year and missed half the year due to injuries. Not to mention the shuffling across the oline because of injuries

This team hasn't been built to be a one-year wonder, even with Bortles on the roster.  Keep flailing away.

If he throws 21 touchdowns a year, and we continue to be in the mix..... Who cares about opening anything up? This isn't fantasy football!
Good to hear. I think after his 2nd year he went to the Tebow camp, which didn't work out too well.
All we need is for another Drew Brees to fall out of the sky, then we can finally open up the playbook

This team IS a one-year wonder.

Any future potential for this one-year wonder is predicated upon UPGRADING the erratic quarterback position.

Built? Read the talk about building an offense around Bortles.....again.

if they open up the play book you will see 90 ways to run up the middle from shotgun Laughing

But he watched Tom Brady's Michigan highlights and McCarron and him are the exact same talent. He even watched side by side comparisons. Buuuwwwaaaa!!! Laughing Laughing
Keep in mind it's really only a two-year deal. That third year is just on paper unless Blake seriously improves. All signs point to the Jaguars drafting a guy now to take over in 2020.

I thought the Tebowites were gone for good, but this post proves me wrong.

So tell us, who would have upgraded the QB position?

Cousins?  You sign him for $30 million +, and you virtually guarantee the team would be a one-two year wonder, because you likely would not be able to re-sign much of the young nucleus that made the team successful.

McCarron, who was not able to beat out Andy Dalton, who is 0-4 in the playoffs? (Full disclosure: I kicked around the idea of the team possibly going after McCarron as a low cost alternative to Cousins should the team decide to move on from Bortles)

Bradford, he who is made of glass?

Bridgewater, whose football career was in doubt due to a serious knee injury, who has scared away the Vikings from retaining him, even as a backup?

Brees, who is 39 and not leaving New Orleans, and would have been cost prohibitive if he were inclined to leave?

An as of now unnamed rookie QB?

Keep in mind, with the exception of Brees, none of the likely replacements for Bortles have won a single playoff game between them.  Bortles has won two.
