Lee can be a deep threat. You don't go up and get the ball with the deep passing game. You trick the defender to create some separation, run under the ball, and score. Double moves, head jerks, stutter steps, etc. are part of the bag of tricks you play on the defender.

We need an upgrade at quarterback so bad.

(My bad at spelling Marqise wrong)

You haven't seen it. All I have is his Combine 40 number. 4.43 is typically good enough for the deep passing game. The reason is you know where you are going, the defender doesn't.

Lee's talent is not what's holding the deep passing game back.

You are truly obliviously to reality.  Lee has some of the worst hands I've ever seen on a WR.  The only similarity that he has to Brown is that they both play the same position.  After that, the comparison is over.
Right now the hype is out for ARob. In 2015 he was a second year player and a lot of his amazing grabs were in garbage time so the refs let him get pretty physical with DBs. In 2016 after his breakout role, defenses knew how to play him and he got mugged the whole season. We can complain about DPI but Jalen Ramsey is a physical corner so we can’t fuss too much. ARob can be good but I don’t think we are going to overpay him. I’m hoping him and the front office have a good meeting about a contract that’s team friendly but I have a feeling someone is going to over pay him and that’s okay, good for ARob. Caldwell has been on fire in the last two drafts so I have faith we can replace him but I REALLY HOPE he stays here

Too many. I win! Banana
He will now be asking at least 4 yrs/65 million with 40 million guaranteed.
Mike Evans just got 16.5 mil a year. Does that help or hurt Arob? I think it's gonna hurt him as Evans has been pretty consistent.

It might help. Evans wasn’t on the open market yet

How so? Evans has had 1000+ yards every season and 2 seasons with 12 touchdowns and missed 3 games and only got 16.5 mil. Open market or not I don`t see how it helps Arob, love to hear your side of the argument.

Great point. Can’t we all agree that 16 million on the tag would’ve been deemed overpaying based on this contract?

I don`t disagree with that never have. I`ve said before he is worth around 13-14 mil.

Nope. Everyone agrees he's worth 12-14 mil on a long term deal (or more in several of our cases). A couple more million on a one year deal to remove the risk that his ACL is back to full health and that 2015 wasn't the outlier is more than worth it.
If we generally agree he is worth 12-14, would the nature of free agency not warrant him getting overpaid at ~16 million? 4yr/65 million with 30-40 million guaranteed. There are a lot of wr needy teams with a lot of money to spend and he is the top of the market.

That's why we shouldn't have let him get to free agency.

I don’t think he’s worth it. Matter of fact, I think this board overrates ARob and I’m glad the FO is playing hardball.

I get what you're saying. I've heard phrases like "All FAs are overpaid," or  "If you're not overpaying for FAs, you're not getting any."

Even though I advocated tagging ARob, I'm not upset with Caldwell. The man is responsible for our cap situation and I've learned to trust him.
There's still a question of his health. From what I've read, my impression is that Watson has progressed farther in his recovery in spite of the injury happening later in the season.

What gives you that impression? Arob has said he'll be cleared well before training camp.
