COnsdidering how the O-line has improved ( look at all the time Bortles has in the pocket these days) I would say:put Henne in for a bit.

He may have lost something in not playing for a year or so, but at least he does not drop his hand when he gets the ball to throw, at least he keeps it up near his ear and thows a clothesline.

Bortles won't be benched for either backup. This is his year to prove if he's the guy or not. They'll give him every opportunity to make his case.
Quote:I hate the inevitability of knowing they have to go through the qb routine to get Allen in there. That is, first they have to bring in the overpaid waste of a roster spot for the better part of a losing effort before they can officially conclude that he sucks, and then the following week we should finally be able to get on track with Allen, the next in a great line of young NFL qbs.

I did not see anything from Allen in camp or preseason that would lead me to believe that if he played this season that he would be anything but over his head.

Yes, but at lease we can claim that we started the re-rebuild.
Quote:Henne is BB5's best bud. Can't you tell? He has turned into him.
Haha epic :-D

Quote:I would not mind seeing Allen. Blake Bortles is either ruined, doesn't care to improve anymore, or just never had what it takes and last year was lighting in a bottle. Either way Allen should be #2 and should be a consideration to start if Bortles continues to regress.

Assuming we're out of playoff contention, Allen might see meaningful time in the last game or two of the year, but don't expect anything before that.
Why cut him when you can trade him to SF or Cleveland?

Hell yeah, trade him for Kaepernick. Super bowl.

I was thinking a draft pick.. but a player at a need position works too.
Allen, Allen, Allen and Lee.

For those who like the "law firm" approach, it's a good one.  Unfortunately, I don't think Brandon Allen will be starting any NFL games anytime soon.

Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns have the same middle name as well, so the law firm would work itself out. Allen Allen and Bernard?
Jaguars really need to start Henne to save the season.  He had a better preseason than Blake.  We still have a chance at winning this division.

Bortles has these last 10 games to prove himself (he's playing that 5th year extension and for a monster contract too). You can't bench him not knowing exactly what he is. Has he regressed but is it a bump in the road or is he that bad of a qb?

Quote:$4 million per years as a backup to mentor Blake. How's that going !!

Here's a pic of Henne earning his $4m with a stat line that shows 0 attempts 0 completions 0 tds 0 ints.

Did I mention he had 0 attempts in 2015 and only 78 attempts in 2014.

Wow I had to look at the Jersey numbers to tell who was Bortles, Henne actually looks younger.
