It's always about the money, and nothing more. Fans might say "why would he play for Cleveland or Oakland where players careers die. 

Or, "maybe he will give us a hometown discount because he bleeds (team colors.

First, you have to remember where ever they are playing professionally, is not their "hometown" (99% of the time.)

Sure there are players that want to win titles. But that trophy isn't going to pay for there kids college or buy them that fancy car. These guys get paid millions if they win or lose. 

Reading the article on Richard Sherman tells it all. It's about the money. It's funny when they say "I want to go to a contender"......then proceeds to sign with a team that won 5 or 6 games. 

Sherman acted as his own agent. If this was a way to save himself money or to make sure he gets the best deal...we will never know.

Sometimes as fans it's important that we don't forget what lays behind this sport.  Money

I agree, titles are nice, but these guys have to retire when they're about 32 years old, and usually, if they're lucky, they get one shot at a big free agent contract.
