Free booze is drying up in Las Vegas casinos

Sammy Davis Jr. would never have let this happen. The Los Angeles Times reports the days of comped drinks for Las Vegas gamblers may be coming to an end.

"It's kind of what Vegas is known for," Scott Roeben, founder of Vital Vegas, tells KTNV. But in recent months, two of the biggest casino owners in Vegas launched systems to regulate the free alcohol being handed out to video poker players in their bars.

Jax Gambling Boat out of Mayport offers free drinks once you get 3 miles out and the machines turn on.

Been there done it. The service is super slow. Don't expect the slow play trick to work here. Also I think the new machines have timers on it so you have to be continuing playing it otherwise it'll cash you out.
NOOOOOO!!! Hopefully it's just video poker

Can't stand the cruise, boat rocks too much to play craps. And it's so smokey...

Well they obviously figured out the trick.

We (wife & I) usually start of with tipping the waitress $5 for 4 vodka cranberry drinks. The $5 gets their attention and 2 drinks each keeps us going for the initial 30 minutes. After that we tip a few $$ and have her bring ~ 3 drinks at a time so we have an extra to split while we wait. Essentially, we're paying ~ $1 per drink for our free drinks but we've found it keeps their attention and get a pretty decent service.

The boat they've had for the past year is better than the old one before it shut down for a year. Yes, there is a decent amount of smoke and I tend to smack some old ladies around who hog up my quarter machine but it's a dog eat dog world when it comes to competing against 75+ year old ladies that go there routinely when their social security check comes rolling in.

Yeah, haven't tried the new boat. Maybe I need to get a groupon and give it a shot!
