It's because, by-and-large, liberals think the average person is too stupid to do anything for themselves. The liberals aren't any better than the "average" person they loathe so much. I have no problem with people voting according to their conscience, it's called free will, but I do have a problem with people shoving their political slop (left and right) down the throats of everyone who doesn't agree with them, or berates folks to the point of bullying them because they don't agree.
We are becoming more and more polarized for many reasons and what I just mentioned is a top reason. Somewhere along the way we forgot that we can live among each other just fine even if we don't agree on things. Now it seems criminal if you don't hate the opposition. I have neither the patience nor the want to entertain such ideas. I will just agree to disagree and leave it at that.
