Hayden Hurst. TE-South Carolina

Look forward to seeing y'all in Atlanta for the Super Bowl to watch our well balanced offense make history.

Or we can meet up prior to the Super Bowl to discuss our highly anticipated arrival. See you in Cali when the Gamecocks play for a BCS National Title. Man, feels good thinking about next football season.
They're looking at signing Seferian-Jenkins now at TE. Just broke news wise. If they pick him up they'll be able to go BAP in RD1. They've essentially addressed CB, WR & G just by adding pieces through free agency.

So signing a physically gifted talented TE with 2 season of futile stats is automatically going to fix things at the position, same with the WR and CB signing.  Delusional and desperate to find a reason to draft QB at 29 that will be a 2nd tier qb that will need time to develop and not even step on the field to make plays.   Jaguars need playmakers to make a run at a SB with this 3 year window, not a tablet holding bench warmer.
Will Hernandez, trade up, first and second.
Well I guess that news pretty much ruined my thread
I'll pass on the guy. We don't have enough money and he's got serious character issues. Oh, and his performance has been mediocre.

Sorry, I'm talking about A.S.J. With the 29th pick, right now my top choice is Goedert.
At 29, if Rudolph and Jackson are still available (Rudolph probably will): Who do we take? Jacksons ceiling is much higher, but he has bigger bust potential imo.
Forgot who mentioned it, but I'm coming around to the idea that the Jags are being super aggressive in free agency because they may have plans to try trade up 15-19 spots for a QB.

something like what the Chiefs did with Mahomes last year

#29, first next year and 3rd this year

get the QB and draft a TE in the 2nd

Mayfield/Rosen and Andrews/Gesicki/Hurst/Goedert... Mmmmmmmm...

The only QBs available at that range will probably be Lamar and Rudolph.

I wouldn't do that. First of all, Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield and Allen will all be gone. Secondly, I think Rudolph could be had in the 2nd and he may end up as good as the other guys.

That would be a waste. He should be there at #29.
If we could get Hernandez, our OL would be formidable. Fournette would be able to run wild.

While I wouldn't give up a 2nd round pick this year, I am also beginning to think Hernandez will not be there when we pick.

Starting with Seattle, there are at least three teams ahead of us in the draft order that could stand to upgrade G.

At least two of those teams-Seattle and Carolina-run power based offenses that would represent a perfect fit for Hernandez. Seattle was using Joeckel at LG-Nuff said.  As for Carolina, they just lost their All Pro LG to us.

The third-Tennessee-is something of an unknown since Vrabel is supposedly going to change the offensive approach.

There is at least one other team in that area-Buffalo-that will basically have to rebuild their OL.  But I suspect their first round picks will be used in a trade up to get a QB.

Under normal circumstances, G is a devalued position and can usually be found later in the draft.  On top of that, most observers think this is an exceptional G class, the depth of which could drive some guards down the board.  But I could see a scenario where Hernandez will be off the board when we are there at 29.

Given the remote odds of us finding an immediate starter for our team in the third round or lower, I would not be opposed to trading up a little in the first round to ensure Hernandez' services assuming a reasonable price.  An OL of Robinson, Norwell, Linder, hernandez and Parnell would be oppressive to opposing run defenses.

But if one assumes Hernandez would be the lynchpin of our draft strategy, it would be dangerous to presume his availability at 29.
I guess the good thing about filling so many holes in free agency is that it allows us to pick the best available player.

And leaving a glaring hole at tight end would kind of give the game away about our draft plans.

I think they will pick the best available receiver, tight end or guard, depending on who is available to us and won’t be too concerned which one it will be.

Plus in the unlikely scenario that someone falls, we can pick them up without stressing about holes in the roster.

And it’s a luxury I don’t think we were expecting to have, because I don’t think many of us were expecting us to be so active in free agency.
I'm just gonna throw a name out there that I have a hunch about with the #29 selection and see what happens.......... Leighton Vander Esch, LB, Boise State.
I think it's down to a Guard/OT/TE/QB/Vander Esch

I'm beginning to think this is a possibility too.
One more note about Seattle.

Given the blood letting/fire sale that's going on with their defense, it would not be a shock to me to see them trade down.
I'm gonna get rocks thrown at me but....of course my favorite player in the draft is Mayfield. I'd take him right now. But I don't think he will last until 29. So with that said, my pick is Josh Allen.
