I'd be okay with it.
I would want to spend my first round pick on someone who could and should start for us. It seems like a WR worthy of the 29th pick in the draft would probably be the best WR on our team, given the WRs we currently have.

I'd be ok with it too. It would be a value meets need type pick. He would start Week 1. We would have him on a rookie deal for up to 5 years. And he would solidify a position that was weak last year.
I don't want a WR in round 1, but I wouldn't be mad about it.

I'd be shocked and confused if we chose Stevan Ridley, since he is under contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers. If we chose Calvin Ridley, I'd be shocked that he made it to #29 and got passed Chicago and Baltimore. I wouldn't be surprised if we drafted a WR at #29 though.

LOL
I'd be stoked if we got Calvin.

Calvin Ridley would be a good choice at 29.

I loved Ridley when he was with the Patriots and didn't realize he'd snuck back into the draft. Good for him, I don't think it's ever been done before under the same name.
Good thread.

I would be really surprised. I wouldn't hate it, because I drink the teal kool aid, but I would be shocked.

Not a fan of Ridley. Very bad athlete and was significantly smaller than I expected too. I'd take Moore, Sutton, Washintgon, and probably others ahead of him.

The good: His tape was great. Elite route runner , always open in college against top tier opposition, good hands. Badly limited by QB. Very fast play speed.
The bad : Older prospect , tested poorly , smaller than you would prefer. Not great at going up and getting it.
I see him as a high caliber #2 like Emmanuel Sanders and those guys have a lot of value. He's always open and plays very fast, those two attributes make it very hard to fail.
I'd be fine with him as he's a damn good player but prefer other options.

I'd be meh... As much as it seems WR is a huge need, the WRs in this draft don't show a huge jump to me. I think we can upgrade better in other positions (OG, TE, LB, RB etc) better.

I don't think Calvin Ridley will fall to us. I don't believe him to be worth multiple picks it will take to move up. We should go best available player regardless of position with each pick. And please take the scouting to the extra level of trying to load the value board as a result of NFL scouting community consensus. Relying on in-house tends to be less reliable and involves much greater risk(s).

I'd take Calvin Ridley right now with the 29th pick. It is possible he'll drop due to less than excellent performance in the Championship game. Prosser named all the busts taken with pick 29 during the past 20 years and it's a big list. I think Ridley would be a safe pick who has the possibility of eventually being a pro bowler.

I think it depends on who is on the board when we select Ridley.
Hernandez, Jackson, Rudolph, Gisecki, Moore, Goedert.... I'd take all of them over Ridley.

I'd even go with something a bit more off the wall with a Josh Sweat at 29, if he's still there, to develop into Fowler's replacement before taking Ridley.

Not that he's necessarily the better WR, but for what the Jaguars can really use out there I'd rather have Courtland Sutton.

I'd be confused and wonder when he'd get playing time behind 4 other more established WRs in Moncrief ($10M ain't sitting on the bench), Lee (same thing as Moncrief), Cole (stellar rookie season with loads of potential), and Dede Westbrook (Biletnikoff Award winner who made play after play last year)

I don't see anything other than QB, OG, or TE at 29.
But I've been surprised before.
