I don't really like either of them (McShay is fine, Kiper is just a figurehead IMO), but I know a lot of people like them and the dueling draft they do is always fun...so here goes. The post is insider but here's the link for the whole thing anyway for those that have it.

29.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Kiper:
D.J. Moore, WR, Maryland
Moore could be the top receiver picked on Day 1. And he'll help in the return game.
McShay:
Lamar Jackson, QB, Louisville
Jackson could provide competition for
Blake Bortles, who is on a cap-friendly deal.
61.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Kiper:
Jordan Akins, TE, UCF
That's two pass-catchers to help out Blake Bortles in the first two rounds. (
D.J. Moore was my pick at No. 29.) The Jags added
Austin Seferian-Jenkins in free agency, but it's a two-year deal with only $4 million guaranteed.
McShay:
Jordan Lasley, WR, UCLA
Allen Hurns and Allen Robinson are gone. The Jaguars need some more receivers, and Lasley has first-round ability.
Personally I'd be pretty darn happy with either guy in the first round and pretty disappointed with either guy in the second round.

To me, those second round picks would be disastrous.
For Kiper, it could have gone Goedert and Rudolph.
Much better.

I agree. I'd be stoked for Lamar Jackson in the first, but all of the other picks are meh.

For McShay I would have gone Jackson and Andrews. For Kiper I would have gone Goedert and prooooobably Josh Sweat (I didn't think very extensively).
I like the first picks, both Jackson and Moore, but the second picks are horrible.
I think I would take McShay's draft over Kiper's.
I would like Moore or Jackson in the 1st definitely; but feel like someone is going to take Lamar in the early 20's despite the popular opinion. I also like Kirk and Moore about the same , if Hernandez, Jackson, and Goedert are all gone.

Agreed. 100%. Akins in RD2 when you could probably get him in RD4. And there's a good chance better pass catching TE's are still on the board there at 61st overall. Lasley is a HUGE reach there too. He should still be on the board well into day three of the draft. I would rather them go after one of the Oklahoma State receivers there if they're going to reach so terribly at WR. Or at least Tate out of FSU or Cobbs out of Indiana.
I don't like any of those picks. Jackson is not a first rounder and is as inconsistent a passer as Bortles is. We don't need a WR as long as Bortles is the QB. As long as he's the signal caller, we will be a run first, short to mid range pass team. Finally, Akins is a poor blocker. I really don't see him getting drafted until the 4th-5th round. There are plenty of TE's ahead of him. He's more of an H-Back type.

I think Jackson's inconsistency just comes from mechanical issues that can be fixed. Having him sit for a year or two should resolve that issue.

I highly disagree. He relies too much on his legs and athleticism. I see him as a taller version of RG3. I want no part of that. I'd rather pass on the QB position altogether, if Jackson is our only choice.

I see him run on designed runs, but I don't see a guy that just goes one read and takes off every play. He goes through reads and isn't a run first QB, he just happens to be awesome when he runs. When the dude throws it correctly, it's very accurate. With someone like Josh Allen, he's not nearly as accurate, even when his mechanics don't look terrible.

I was going to say virtually the same thing.
As I've said before, the game slows down for Jackson. It's not one read and go... it's like five reads and go.
That said, I do think there are some throws that Jackson can't quite make, and he won't even try. He'd rather run knowing he can.

Common misconception.

You and I must be watching 2 different QB's. Jackson and Allen are both inaccurate passers.
Allen completed 49% of his passes in Junior College.
Its pretty worrying that a guy has never been an upper tier player at any point in his football career. I mean even some of the worst QBs we've seen in the NFL have dominated in high school or in lesser conferences. Allen didn't at all.

I just don't understand why Kiper is all over this guy's jock. He keeps saying he's the best QB in the draft, but he is way behind the other QB's in almost every category, other than arm strength. Remember, JaMarcus Russell had one of the strongest arms of any QB, but he failed miserably. I see the same for Allen.

Because Allens agent is paying Kiper to do that.
