And Nelson and Hernandez were the only 2 lineman picked already who would be the player you would want us to take?  Price, Wynn, William's, Daniels, McGlinchey, Ragnow?  Can't make up my mind between Price and Ragnow

McGlinchey. He's an absolute beast.

Stick McGlinchey in at RT and he starts ten years.

Actually, all of those guys are solid choices.

Out of all of those, Daniels would be the one guy who would concern me because of size.

Exactly.

Robinson Norwell Linder (not sure) McGlinchey would be an elite line for 5 years or more.

That doesn't really help us. We need a RG. Parnell played well last season. If we're not going to fill an actual need, I'd skip over it and look to draft the best TE on the board.
I think Wynn might be the best pure linemen out of all of them but perhaps not the best fit for what we look for.

I'd prob go Ragnow.

Drafting a RT who would most likely start for 10 years doesn't help the Jags?

And you want to draft a TE who won't start over a RT who won't start? TE's don't typically play well in their first season.

Are you saying McGlinchey doesn't help us, or none of those guys help us?

In either case I would disagree.

Parnell played very well for us last year.  He'll be 32 or 33 next year.  We need to prepare for his decline/departure soon.  Besides McGlinchey is a heckuva player at RT.

In a worst case scenario with McGlinchey, we put him iin at RG for a year then move him outside.  Besides, this is a deep G class anyway.  We could get a quality RG later.

As for the other guys, Wynn and Price would fit well at RG.

From what I've read, we're planning on playing a lot of 2 TE sets, so who ever we draft at TE, should get a lot of work. Plus, I'm not high on McGlichey at all. He really struggles with speed rushers.
McGlinchey and then Ragnow.

Hopefully both in round 1 and 2.
1 McGlinchey
2 Wynn
3 Williams
4 Price depending on injury
5 Ragnow
6 Daniels
I don't think McGlinchey will be there at 29. I'd say take Wynn and if he isn't there then go with Price. Either one can start day 1 and be a solid piece to our offensive line.

^^^ this, as in ditto.
People need to watch the Miami game on McGlinchey and tell me what you think

Ragnow is the most underrated player in the whole draft imo

Agree that McGlinchey won't be there. I like Wynn also, but prefer Williams since his style fits better for the Jaguars. If he's not there, I really like Price. He will be a starter day 1 at center and eventually make the pro-bowl. They could then move Linder to guard.

McGlinchey was virtually flawless through the first 2 1/2 quarters. The worst of it was missing the block on a LB a few yards downfield in the run game.

Late in the third quarterit got a little ugly for him allowing an inside pressure followed soon after by a sack, although the QB practically stepped into the sack.

Late in the fourth quarter, the DE he had been turning away all day finally beat McGlinchey outside. The DE exploded out of his stance with a textbook edge rush to force a sack-fumble.

Otherwise McGlinchey dominated all game.

Based on what I know, which is not much, I would take Wynn.   He's highly rated, he's an OG with enough versatility to play any position on the offensive line.

I would not take a center.   We are nicely set at LT, LG, and C.  Our RG is mediocre at best, and our RT is old.  There's where our needs are.

I wouldn't hate Williams, but he's an OT, and I think our weakest offensive lineman is Cann, not Parnell.

I just think our biggest weakness right now is at RG, especially since we want to run the ball.   Hernandez would be perfect, but if he is gone, I would take Wynn.
I'm going to attempt to make a pure G ranking. This ranking has nothing to do with thier potential to play C or OT even if that's their primary position...

  1. Quenton Nelson
  2. Isaiah Wynn
  3. Will Hernandez
  4. James Daniels
  5. Conner Williams
  6. Branden Smith
  7. Billy Price
  8. Frank Ragnow
  9. Tyrell Crosby
  10. Jamarco Jones
  11. Martinas Rankin
  12. Austin Corbett
  13. Wyatt Teller
  14. Scott Quessenberry
  15. Tony Adams <--a natural RG with good value in round four
  16. Will Clapp <--- blocked for Fournette in college

That is a pretty good list.  I think I'd personally move up Price a bit and maybe Ragnow, but that's just preference.  If we could get Wynn or Hernandez, I will be high fiving everyone at Buffalo Wild Wings.
Great list.

It makes me think there should be someone worth picking in round two, so maybe we can look at other needs in round one.

I reckon Hernandez and one of Daniels or Price will be gone by the time we pick at 29 anyway.
