This guy could be our franchise QB and bring energy and excitement that this franchise hasn't seen in decades. I know he isn't eligible for the coming draft, but we need to do whatever it takes to get the 1st overall pick in 2018.
He reminds me of a Vince Young (minus the crazy).

Good news is we won't be giving Blake a cap crippling deal so we can continue to improve the team while searching for a new QB.

He is way better than Vince Young, and also not as dumb as a coat rack. He is a dynamic runner with rare elusiveness, good footwork, and a cannon for an arm. He could be a generational talent. The QBs in this class are average. I think we need to wait out this situation and do whatever it takes to get this guy.
I don't see him as an NFL QB.

I strongly disagree. He is the most dynamic QB prospect since Michael Vick. He will be the 1st overall pick whenever he decides to declare. Hopefully it's us turning in the draft card.
He is way too skinny, his accuracy is questionable and so are his decision making and arm strength. He only looks really impressive escaping the pocket and avoiding sacks and picking up yards with his legs, a lot like Manziel. He is nowhere close to the athlete Vick was. Vick had 4.2 speed and a canon arm. Lamar Jackson ran a 4.77 coming out of high school and his arm strength is average at the college level. He is a good college QB but his game doesn't translate to the NFL.

UL in March clocked him at a 4.42 so...

Vick was a guy who ran out of the pocket and made plays with his legs. How is that different from Jackson besides running the opposite direction?
Gus will ruin him.

He can prove me wrong, but I see him as just a college QB also.

Absolutely nothing reminds me of Vince Young, except skin tone. Vince Young was always a pretty bult guy while LJAX looks like Darius heyward-bey. No matter his size though the guy can ball
Let's see what he does next year. I like college QBs that have 2-3 years of success not one year wonders

I believe the jury is still out on Jackson.  One thing I do not like is his terrible completion percentage (58.3%).  If the Jags decide to get a QB to compete with Bortles next year, I'd like it to be Luke Falk.   One thing I see in Falk aside from having the best completion percentage in college football (72.7%), is how natural and effortless his throwing motion is.  We need a natural thrower, plain and simple.

If we are picking 1st overall in 2018 and Gus is still the head coach, I will personally eat a shotgun.
So you want to suck for two for years? Or are you saying trade up for him?

LMOA, there is no way Gus will be the coach in 2018

I agree with you that Jackson will be the top pick in that draft tho

i don't really think it's a question we will suck for two more years. We will be picking in the top 5 again in 2018 with the way this thing is going guarantee it.

I don't want to, but that's just how it's gonna be with Bortles at QB. I'll be forever thankful if he successfully tanks us towards Jackson though.
Nah, I want a smart white QB, that can read defenses, at least 6'4", 230lbs, compact throwing motion, above avg to cannon arm strength, can make all the throws, excellent footwork, enough mobility/athleticism to buy time, comes from pro style not spread offense, tough physically and mentally, leader, winner, passionate about football, works on his craft, spends time in the film room, mature
