Who says he will even play QB? Maybe they are trying him out at an other position?
BCC says they "signed" him.

However, Malik says he is a camp invite only. Invites don't have contracts.

Oh, they'll cut Zaire to justify their wasted pick on Lee.

Lee and Zaire will be cut sooner or later.

This.  But they probably put Lee on the practice squad.
This seconded. Lee is battling for practice squad. Zaire is pure camp fodder. The FO judged that none of this year’s QB, at least outside the top four, would be realistic competition for Blake this year or even next. If Blake bombs the Jaguars will be drafting much higher in 2019 so there’ll be better replacement options there, not to mention Joe Flacco and other vet free agents.

Again, the BCC report appears to be inaccurate.  He has NOT been signed, so Zaire can't be "cut."  He's yet to earn a contract.  He'll have that chance in camp as a camp invite.

We'll see how long it takes them to correct their "article."

Lee will be a camp arm that they will be judging if he is worth trying to develop. His best case scenario is practice squad QB. Sadly, Zaire has zero shot of even competing with Lee for that practice squad spot.
They signed Ziare to practice defense against an athletic QB, and signed Lee to practice defense against a strong arm QB. They apparently have a lot of faith in Kessler.

No way they spent a draft pick on a guy just to practice on a guy with a strong arm.

And now the front office in all their wisdom has decided to sign him. Oh joy! Wallbash I'm convinced we're signing the crappiest QB's we can get, just to make Bortles look better. That's the only thing that makes sense.

Dude, he's a camp arm. There is no undrafted QB out there that's going to challenge Bortles in camp. Late round QBs are drafted (or signed) because they have a couple of attributes that project well, they have a bit of experience, and they haven't killed anyone lately. You're reading into this too much. If the team really wanted to replace Bortles, they would have had to pursue Cousins. If they'd done that, they would almost certainly have had to cut another key contributor or two. I am no fan of Blake Bortles, but I'm even less a fan of gutting your team to fill one position that, really, isn't all that broken. Don't forget how good Bortles was for a while there, and don't forget that he was good enough to get us to the conference championship game. Give him a couple new toys at wideout and a tight end that can break one, and maybe he's good enough to go to the Super Bowl.

You keep forgetting about Cody Kessler. He managed to look competent on the Browns. The Browns. I think there's more to his future here than being the next Chad Henne.

Dude runs a 4.95 at 225 lbs. Unless the plan is to put on 70 lbs. and play center, there's not much versatility there.
Haha. I didn't realize he was slow.

I think we'll need to give him a year on the practice squad in order to play him at Center at 295 pounds.  There's no way he can put on 70 and acclimate himself to the Center Position in a 4 month period.  It's gonna take him at least 9 to 12 months to get there.

He can run tho.

As for him being a camp arm, he's a great fit. He's got that same wobble on his deep passes as Bortles.

Thank you for actually breaking it down for them in a way that they can easily grasp if they choose to.

They DID NOT draft him. They DID NOT sign him.
LOL...

So camp has come and gone, and Zaire was not offered a contract.

Never signed, and BCC never corrected their article.

Par for their course.

We were only going to sign Zaire if we could lure McElwain away from the Univ of Michigan to replace Marrone.

Zaire was only really good at UF as a result of that great offensive system McElwain ran.  Without McElwain, Zaire is just another average QB

Yet another lesson for people that get their (fake) news from amateur bloggers whose only real "source" is twitter.  Big difference between a player under contract (signed) and a "tryout" player or camp invite.
Ill be stunned if we carry more than 2 QBs on our roster next year. And I give Lee a 50/50 shot of making practice squad.

Why aren't we picking up Ryan Mallett or Dan LeFevour. Just watch Bill O'Brien pick them up and make the Superbowl
