Ok maybe they have better things to do.

But the NFL player gig is so sweet. You get paid to show up to watch rookies and PS players duke it out, work out, get free food and swag. I don't know why you wouldn't show up
Cut 'em.

BTW, John Henderson as I recall at least, never attended an OTA. The same goes for that white defensive end who came over from the Eagles... I'm struggling to recall his name. He had the super hot wife.

Jason Babin, still lives in Ponte Vedra

That's the guy.

Jalen and AJ are giving the offense a chance to get ready for them before they actually face off. To show up now would erode the confidence of the new WRs.

Cann's starting job could be on the line this year during training camp. Yeldon shouldn't feel too comfortable even with Ivory gone now. Smoot is a 2nd year guy that was a 3rd RD pick last year. He might want to show up even if it's voluntary.

Bohanon at FB may be safe but you never know. Of course all of those guys could have legitimate reasons as to why they're missing it. But if they don't. Doesn't make a ton of sense.

According to DiRocco, Ramsey and Bouye are the only 2 not there, the rest are just not participating.  Guessing must be some sort of minor injury issues to them.

Here's the text from the tweet, was too lazy to go on twitter and find the tweet so I'm just taking it from ESPN.com:

CBs Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye are the only Jaguars not present at first voluntary OTA. Several other players were not participating: LB Myles Jack, RB T.J. Yeldon, DE Dawuane Smoot, DE Dante Fowler, S Tashaun Gipson. Jaguars are off Wednesday and are back on the field Thursday and Friday.

Context is key. Thanks for sharing. That's good news and good to hear.
There is no question that the outside CBs are Bouye and Ramsey. By them not there, even in pajamas, the backups get a chance to step up and develop. Glass is half full.
Jalen is a young player that should have been here for OTA"s. he is not the best corner in the NFL even if he thinks he is. Veterans like Cambell, Jackson, Darius with all their experience attend because the team needs there experience and leadership for the young players. They know that it will be harder this year to get to the AFC championship game as the team has a target on it back and will face the best effort of each team they play this year. So did I lose some respect for Jalen and AJ yes I did. Your not the best and never will be if you think you already can skip working with the team whether voluntary or mandatory.

Are they leaving their stuff in your yard again?

I have no idea what you are taking about, but to think you do not need to be with your team during volentary workouts when the players are working to get to the super bowl after being so close to winning the afc championship is disrespectful to every player in camp trying to take the next step and playing in the superbowl.

Give it up already. I guarantee you not one player out there feels even the slightest level of disrespect from Ramsey and Bouye.
It's obvious Bortles has paid them off (to not show up).

It's a non issue
They obviously went to Heinz field for otas considering thats officially our house now
I don’t really care if players show up for optional OTAs.

However, this seems like an article straight from Gus Bradley’s tenure with the Jags.

I agree. Not sold on marrone as a head coach. He's a likeable guy, but you are spot on about his leadership
Coughlin would never allow this if he was coach..... Marrone is clearly too soft.

Neither of you knows what Marrone said to Jalen and AJ. No coach publicly will comment on their interactions with players.  That stuff stays in the locker room. The statement about not caring if players show up may be his way of defusing the situation publicly but may have little insight into what presents to the players.

Unless you are present in the locker room with the players you have on the idea of how they feel about Jalen and AJ. No player is going to throw another player under the bus no matter how they feel.  I have no more insight into how the players feel, but in my opinion, If I was a veteran player attending OTA's with the idea of going to the super bowl and a second-year player felt he did not need to attend the practices I won't hate on the guy but I would be disappointed with his failure to show up.
