Yannick Ngakoue is quite rightly included in this list of emerging NFL pass rushers.

And we should probably be grateful for that, so maybe this is picking nits, but it does seem a bit strange to say a guy who has just come off a 12-sack season (and eight the year before that) is about to “break out”!

He already has broken out - you just didn’t notice!
He’s somehow stayed under the radar, but that won’t last beyond October IMO.
Factors
1) University of Maryland
2) Jacksonville Jaguars
3) Hard name to pronounce
4) 3rd round pick

His national exposure has been very limited due to his college and NFL teams up to this year.  It just takes more time due to the reasons cited above.  If his name was Lavon Smith from Bama now playing for the Steelers everybody would know him.
I thought he ended it perfectly at the end saying that even with 12 sacks in 2017 that Ngakoue has barely scratched the surface of his potential. That's saying a lot IMO.

If he can get a couple of sacks on Brady week 2, he'll be on the national radar.
91% chance

This completely. He hit the nail on the head with all 4 reasons.
His name, Round, Jags, etc ain't got anything to do with it.

Chris Matooaaafalllah was a Full Back but they knew about him. TJ Houshmenzada (remember whose your momma)

There's all kinds of crazy names, and those factors don't matter and it's not why.
Where's Bosa?

Did you actually read why McGinest says he’s about to break out?  It makes complete sense that we haven’t seen the best of what he has to offer based on the analysis of someone who played the game.  He’s saying Yannick can actually improve on what he’s already done.  So, yes, this is nitpicking.

I thought he shoulda made the list too. Based on what Willie is saying, Yan is just scratching the surface so 12 sacks is NOT a break out year. Something like 16 - 20 sacks would be his ceiling.

It's just there aren't many DEs who I'd say are better than Ngakoue, and Bosa at 20-years-old is one of them.
18 sacks for Ngakoue.

Maybe breakout = breaking the record

I would love for this to happen.

Yes, I read what he wrote.

Of course he can improve. But this wasn’t a list of “players who can improve further”. It’s a list of players set to break out.

my argument was that putting him on a list of players about to break out suggests he hasn’t already done that!

He has.
