Claiming it's about something else is bizarre. That's like protesting Walmart because the post office lost your mail. And the stupidest part of it was that the protest was originally just a player who was sulking after losing his starting job, and then only made up some other reason to cover up his lack of sportsmanship.

They aren't protesting the anthem, the playing of the anthem just provides them an opportunity to make their point.

The bolded text is petty [BLEEP]. He wasn't noticed sitting on the bench the first two preseason games of 2016 because he was inactive with a sore shoulder and in street clothes. Agree or disagree with Kapernick, he put his career on the line. To say he did this out of petulance is nonsense.

"They aren't protesting Walmart, the Walmart parking lot just provides them an opportunity to make their point."

If they really were protesting police actions, they would have protested in front of the city hall or police building associated with whatever wrong they thought was committed, not in the "Walmart parking lot."

And only Kaep knows the truth about Kaep's real reason. He didn't mention police shootings until he was challenged, which supports my theory better than yours.

Exactly.
I still vote for just getting rid of the anthem before sporting events and being done with it..... Never gonna make everybody happy here. All stand, it was forced patriotism. All kneel, its forced protest. Allow to stand or kneel and somehow you hate your nation by utilizing freedoms given (not by employer. Blah blah blah.). Sit inside and youre a coward who hates the us. Take it off tv and the NFL hates america, but at least we wont have as many people whining over this in a few weeks..... Can't win for losing on this one. Just eliminate it.

I agree.
I also move to get rid of the pledge of allegiance in schools.

Save the uber-patriotism stuff for personal home, military, and politics.
Save the protests for personal time, twitter, facebook, youtube, or whatever other social platforms exist to send the message.

That's my very unpopular with both sides opinion lol

Most days I said the pledge.  Most days the teachers in Duval county didn't force it, as long as you stood they would not bother you.  Still, most days I said it, but, I resented those rare instances when I felt like teacher was forcing me.

Agreed, I never understood why it was played outside of international games anyways.  The real irony is that until the protest most networks didnt even air the anthem outside of the post season and SNF, they would say how they're throwing it to the stadium crew and would just show a 15 second bumper with the flyover, cheerleaders, and players running out to the field...nobody seemed to bat an eye at this or talk about how it was unpatriotic.
