President Donald Trump said Monday that the new beefed-up defense spending bill will provide U.S. soldiers with a significant pay increase and family housing.

And it's being paid for by reducing the Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) and Tricare, both of which are programs for service members which aren't taxed while the 2.1% pay increase is taxed. Um, no. BAH reduction is off the table, in fact, increased this year. Tricare co-pays will increase for pharmacy and some referrals, but the trade off is less restrictions and greater freedom of care.

You do realize that the Netherlands is not a socialist country, that WW2 in Europe was fought mostly by Soviet and British/Canadian troops, and that NATO was formed four years
after the conclusion of WW2?

Look DF, I think everyone agrees that this raise is peanuts compared to the $40 the previous administration was able to give away, but it's a start.

Brits sent about 4.6 million
America sent about 2.1 million (to Europe)
The US essentially kept Russia mobile with vehicles, armed Britain and Russia, destroyed Japan, and then swept up the Nazis with the invasion of Normandy. Russia definitely contributed more than anyone to the European-side of the war. But they were back-and-forth with the eastern edge until Normandy. After that, everything came tumbling down quickly.
He said the US saved you which is correct. He didn't say they "mostly" fought in Europe. The US did save you, because without them, Russian couldn't move their armies and didn't have the resources to continue it, and Britain didn't have the equipment.
