Unfortunately, although Freddy T is probably my favorite Jag of all time, he is just not the right guy to pair with Sexton. He provides some good insight, makes some good comments, and the fanbase loves him, but he's just very unnatural with a microphone in front of him.
Looking at where Fred was at when he entered the league to where he is today, it's a huge leap forward. This level of improvement should continue. I think Fred really wants to be a good color guy, and admits he has a long way to go.
I've got a soft spot for Brian Sexton because I've gotten to know him over the years, and he's a genuinely good guy. I enjoy having his call on the TV broadcast. He's probably the best play-by-play we've had since Gus Johnson for our preseason games. The Kouvaris era was more painful than Frangie on the radio. I think Brian would happily take the booth job back, although I do know that he prefers working for the Jaguars, and really enjoys his current role with the team. That was the silver lining for hi in this whole transition when Frangie took over. Sexton got to go back to work for the Jags.
