I think it is ignorant to be asking for a dud in a game we dominated

It was interesting hearing Tony Romo talk about the coverage.  He said it was very subtle the way the DBs would shift around during the play and shade themselves one way or another to provide help in different areas.   He was very complimentary.   It's the kind of thing the casual fan can't see.  Having 4 veteran players back there, 2 all pro corners and a pair of real good safeties, is such a luxury.

Studs- the coaching staff. By now, everyone knows what Belichick does- he takes away what you do best, and in our case, that is the running game. So we just came out and threw the ball all over the field, and never stopped, even when it was time to salt the game away. It was incredible. What a great game plan.
Charks fumbled hurt big time and it wasn't even a really big hit or a good strip he just let it go. Also, his route in the endzone was TERRIBLE.
BOAT > GOAT
Hackett and Wash were masterful.
Chark's fumble was a momentum changer but he will learn from it and has a bright future IMO. Good to see him get more snaps.
Dante Fowler showed incredible tenacity on his sack/strip/recovery. Huge play.
Abry Jones had another excellent game.
Gotta give Wells the game ball. When Cam went down, it was a very 'Oh farts' moment, but really the line appears unphased by the loss. I hope he can keep it up for the rest of the year

I can't really call out anyone in this game, except maybe Moncrief, but I have a feeling with every drop, he's pushing himself further down the depth chart. The young guys are stepping up big.
Game Balls:
Blake Bortles
Keelan Cole
Corey Grant
The Entire Offensive Line

Game Duds:
D.J Chark - I hesitated putting him on here. Yes, he fumbled it. Yes, it led to a TD. BUT... he also saved us on a fumble recovery early that day. He's still a workhorse on Special Teams as a gunner.
Brandon Wilds - 1 job - 1 carry - Coughed it up late and could have cost us points.
In defense of Chark - on the first series, he recovered and advanced Westbrook's fumble, giving the team a first down. His own fumble was frustrating, but we shouldn't be too down on him. I'd like to see him more in the rotation.

Oops - I see Caldrac already made my point.

Anyone know how Taven Bryan did out there? I know he played. Did he get any kind of rush on the QB?
This thread is the dud, Go Jags,,

Taven Bryan did get some snaps.
And no... he didn't get much of a rush from what I saw. (1 combined tackle in 2 games so far)

I disagree a bit. I don't want to make excuses for Chark, but the Patriot defender did very deliberately punch the ball very hard and from the perfect angle.  The other team gets paychecks from the NFL too.  It wasn't as if Chark was simply running untouched and "just let it go".

I agree that it was it a very big momentum changer.
Which DB gave up the Hogan TD? I believe it was his first. Defensively I thought we played great. Never going to shut Brady out so we did great at limiting him. The key was keeping Gronk covered. Out LBs are good enough to handle the back out of the backfield which is what the Pats do so well.
Moncrief; I really liked the signing of him this off season but there were definitely times were I feel he should have caught the ball but didn’t..wouldn’t really call them drops..but you expect an NFL WR to get those. Especially when he’s a 2nd rounder and Cole is making insane grabs on the regular as an UDFA. Chark...gotta do better. Moncrief went down so Chark got his monent and blew it. I saw Moncrief back out the next series and I have to believe that that was Charks opportunity to maybe surpass Moncrief on the depth chart.

I think that was Ramsey. Hogan made a subtle move outside and Ramsey bit, then couldn’t recover to the inside.

I saw no giving up.

Brady did a nice job of catching them a little flat footed with a quick snap count and release.

Yeah, Ramsey did the same against Odell in wk 1, bit on the inside to try to jump the play and then couldn't recover. Although in Wk 1 Manning was courteous enough to overthrow OBJ as to save 2.0's blushes.

It wa Ramsey,  Ramsey through the first 2games of the season hasn't been the corner he was last year.  Hopefully he picks it up a bit.  He gave up a few catches too

Bouye has been really good and Hayden has been great. Gipson has been great too and shut down Gronk
Here is pff grades through the first couple games and it pretty much matches the eye test for Hayden and Ramsey although Ramsey is covering the better corner but still

Looks like BB5 wrist surgery really helped
Come on....celebrate and enjoy the team we have!

And btw.....I saw the cheatriots holding time, after time.....and Thank God that Marrone didn't let the ref get away with that very liberal spot to give them a first down.

You gotta love how the refs were still measuring after the call had been reversed. I'm like- they're lining up for the next play just stop already!

More than likely, Belichek asked for the measurement to see how far it was.

I only recall one particular play where he flat out bull rushed his tackle into Brady just after he was able to release the pass. He almost had him. The one game (Well, maybe two) where I expect him to register a sack or more is against the houston tinhorns. Their offensive line is still trash and they were getting manhandled on Sunday.

Watson is also holding onto the football wayyyyyyyy too long from what I saw. Our defense should be able to pick-up right where they left off with them last year.

Marrone mentioned in his presser today on Bryan.  Said him and Harrison are getting better and better with each rep.

Here is pff rating on Bryan and Harrison for whatever its worth. Both rated as above average
