Quote:Or we could try to run it like a real NFL team with a fullback or power formation. We don't have a Cowboys Oline so not sure why we try using less blockers. But heck, even with the 1990s Cowboys OL (considered the best run blocking OL in history), they still used a FB most of the time during their heyday.
I think back to the best rushing attacks over the years, most of them employed FBs.
The most notable exception that leaps out to my mind was the Gibbs era Skins, who ran one back mostly. Of course, like Dallas of the 1990s, they had a great OL too, and a good philosophy overall.
When they ran Riggins/Riggs/Rogers/Byner outside, it was usually on counters, which would make LBs and other defenders take false steps, pull linemen around and create an advantage at the designed point of attack.
With us, I don't see the offense employing many counter type plays. When we run power backs outside, it is on stretch plays. Our don't gain any advantages, the plays are slow in developing, and we don't get anything.
The most effective running plays we've had this year have been draw type plays.

You know she's not a real person and just says stuff like that to get a reply, right?

Our team's struggles right now are due to two primary issues, coaching and the o line.
We need to get both fixed by next season.

You only start the hurry up if you're in a rhythm. You converted a first down or made a big play? Hurry up and keep at it.
You can't run out there and hurry up your way to a three and out, and I think our offense would do just that if we did it often.
