Another Missouri QB? Get outta here with that mess.
Florida defenders, Iowa Linemen, SEC QBs. No thanks.

Brandon Scherff would of been the right pick in 2015

This decision sucks. When we win the Superbowl this year it solidifies Bortles here for good.
We'll probably draft another RB or OT that late on day one.

I would love to have Will Grier. This offense would be on fire.

I like the kid from NC State
09-29-2018, 09:34 PM
I want the big DT from Notre Dame, Jerry Tillery. The kid is a monster against the run and he terrorizes QB's as well. IMO, he is a mixture of Marcus Stroud and John Henderson. At 6'7 310, he could still add some weight to his frame and be just as effective, if not more. He could be an immediate replacement for Malik Jackson or he could add some weight and line up at NT, replacing Dareus.

I'd take Jeffery Simmons in that spot.

I would be more than a bit upset if this team let Christian Wilkins pass them by. I know that's DT in consecutive years, but that's a lot of talent to let go in my opinion.

Huh? Florida's defenders outside of a couple DL guys have usually been studs. Especially DBs
but the rest I agree with.
Although... Lock is not Gabbert, imo.

I don't think we'll be in position to draft him. I see him being one of the top guys taken next year if he continues with his Heisman hopeful season.
But...
how about we win the SB this year with Bortles, then next year, tank for Tua?

I don't see us drafting a QB next year. I think we're sticking with Bortles until at least the 2020 draft so, I'm not even considering a QB. I think we continue the plan of replacing older players with big contracts on the defensive side of the football. I'm not a fan of Will Grier anyway and the two guys I think may be decent pros, Drew Lock and Justin Herbert will likely go in the top 15. I'm looking at run stuffing DT's, an edge pass rusher to replace Fowler and some O-Line depth.

Lol we're not replacing Bortles

Indeed.
However I'm weary of us being comfortable already, again, with Bortles. Not wanting a first rounder by any means but I could see first round QB in 2020 barring serious improvements from BB5's consistency.
Why not a fan of Grier?

I say RB now with Fournette being in this current situation. Probably looking at Bryce Love or Justice Hill with the 32nd overall pick.
It's a justifiable selection too. We may see Yeldon bolt during free agency. Especially if he starts producing in Fournette's absence.
Hill would be ideal. He's a multipurpose back. Think Lindsay type size whose currently in Denver. He's not the biggest guy but he's shifty. He would be a good option to rotate with Fournette.

Another RB in the first would be a nightmare scenario.
Keep adding to the Oline or Dline is my pick.

I see him as a system QB who locks onto receivers and doesn't go through his progressions. In the NFL, he's gonna have to adjust. He has very good receivers who make him better than he actually is. He also lacks the arm strength of the other QB's I have ahead of him. Not that he has a weak arm, but it's just not elite. He's pretty immobile as well. It's just a preference. I personally see him as more of a second rounder. I only think Lock and Herbert will be first round QB's. They have NFL qualities IMO.

Blaine Gabbert and Drew Lock are about as close as night and day. Lock has elite arm strength and Gabbert lacked it. Lock goes through his progressions and Gabbert locked onto receivers like a deer in headlights. Drew Lock is a true NFL prospect right now and Gabbert was an early entry who should've stayed in school and worked on his mechanics. With all this said, I still want to draft a DT in round 1.

Of all of the things you could point out as a deficiency for Gabbert, arm strength is not one of them. He had an NFL arm, just not the NFL nads.

I disagree. I don't know what his arm strength is now, but when he came out of Mizzu, it was average.

The experts disagree.
His knock was coming from a spread offense and not playing under center, mostly.

Grier is a system QB? That is kinda silly.
Dude... I respect your opinions but I fully disagree here. I have a friend from West Virginia and I've been watching them since before Grier got there.
And as a UF guy I saw Grier playing very well prior to getting busted. Dude has played well in two different systems.
Daniel Jeremiah one of the better scout guys on TV had this to say about Grier: Grier lacks elite size, but he has plenty of arm strength. I was very impressed with his combination of zip and touch. He also put on a show when throwing on the move. He makes it look easy. Grier has a quick delivery. He can accurately drive the ball on skinny posts and hole shots near the sideline. He can also operate with limited foot space in the pocket. His accuracy doesn't suffer when he's off platform or forced to change arm angles.
All of that was before he started putting on quite the show this season perhaps headed to a Heisman.
I really think by years end he is one of the top 2 or 3 QB draft selections. (A nice selection for the NYG or Tampa, imo)
