I tried to say this during the game but got shut down haha not by you though because we mentioned it before the game

Quote:Coverage sack, that wasn't anything special. Still happy it happened and credit goes to the entire defense on that one. He has a real shot at getting double digit sacks.
Quote:Like I said #24 was wide open. Not a coverage sack. The pressure in his face, which started with Fowler causing Hoyer to step up in the pocket, was what caused the sack.https://vine.co/v/5Hvg01x3EEn

Yeah...that's a super long sack time. 80% coverage, 10% Odrick for the first hit, 10% Yannick for cleaning up, and sorry but 0% Fowler.
Quote:What is the definition of a coverage sack? And what caused Hoyer to step up into Odrick?Fowler
Quote:Fowler
Quote:I mean it's right there in his face in the link he provided. KY is so anti Fowler his biase is really showing.Or maybe I'm simply not frothing at the mouth to try to justify something. Hoyer cleanly hit the back of the drop and he was casually crow hopping to get momentum to make a throw. Fowler didn't force him to step up or rush his play in any way whatsoever.

Quote:Jesus, did you all come out of the woodwork to defend Windmill when he was harmlessly pushed past the pocket like this? There is literally no difference between those plays and this.I agree that Fowler was a non-factor on that play.
Quote:I agree that Fowler was a non-factor on that play.Thank you. I shouldn't have said you all cause several people agreed, my bad.
If seeing him whizzing by in peripheral vision influenced Hoyer to step up - so be it - but he wasn't a threat. He was pushed too far back to contribute physically.
A better QB dumps that ball off to the RB and we're not arguing about sack credit, we're pulling out our hair in frustration. And we saw Rivers do just that against this defense a few weeks ago.

Quote:As much as a pleasant surprise Ngakoue is Fowler has been that much of a disappointment. He stuffed one running play and had one pressure on a blitz. Outside of that... he was just a body on the edge. He's playing the strong side DE quite a bit. Which brings a lot of chips/double teams, as well as being a body on the edge in that role, when it's not an obvious pass rushing down.
Quote:Half that should go to Odrick
