D holds (for the most part) early and by 3rd/4th Q they've been on the field a lot and they give up plays.
I'm not letting the D off the hook for this past Sunday by any means. (Wash especially) Saw Taven Bryan spinning around looking for someone to get blocked by while the play was already off in the flat. Campbell can't do it all himself, Yannick showed up, Fowler is whatever... Telvin is not playing at his normal high level. Church has almost been a liability. Patmon isn't good at nickel, imo. Wash just gonna do what he wants instead of what works.
All that being said bout the D...
those issues are either created, magnified, or duplicated due to our offense inept ability to gain a first down much less score. Most of which has to do with the QB playing like [BLEEP]. Much of that attributed to the OL playing like [BLEEP], the OC calling [BLEEP] for a game, and when that stuff clicks, the WRs wanna be [BLEEP].
The bye can't come soon enough. Guys need to get it together. Guys need a goosfrabba meeting.
Not
exactly what happened there. Dak got flushed out of the pocket from the other side and scrambled/improvised past Taven before Taven realized the pocket had been vacated and Dak was racing right past him. Not a very alert play from Bryan, but not that bad really. He was focused too much on getting off the block and didn't see the QB take off.
Seems like some standard rookie type stuff.
The offense has scored 21 points the last 2 games combined, but yea lets blame the defense, our offense is terrible in a league where offense is king
If we could score points the defense giving up a lot points in a game wouldnt be a big deal

I guess man. If we're talking about the same play. All I know is on replay, Taven did a full 360 looking around in front off an OL guy. Probably looking for the QB that was running out in the flat sure, but didn't seem to locate him, ever lol
Just looking lost in general, rookie stuff? Sure... but why is he in the game when we're getting whooped? More coaching questions to me more than a knock on Taven. I never expected him to be much more than part time rotation... it seems Campbell has been dinged more than normal and probably forced Bryan into more snaps than they planned, but then... why is Smoot inactive altogether, wouldn't the vet be better if the rookie is too green?
The game still has a simple blueprint, win the turnover battle you put yourself in a chance to win the game. We just aren't getting any turnovers at all, and offense have been a giveaway machine.
Just watching it appears that nobody has really improved from year 1 to 2. Certainly none of the coaching staff and the players look a step off. Blame it on injuries or whatever, but I just don't think the talent is being developed well by this staff. This is a YOUNG team.... who got better? Who's a probowler right now?
We are almost at the half way point so it's a valid question. Right now...Calais... thats about it. You can make an argument for Yannick. I think that's pathetic considering the talent we have, or atleast we all perceive we have. Personally I still believe there's a pro bowl talent on each position on defense, just not being used.

We're talking about the same play. he did the full 360 after finally getting off his block and didn't see Dak zooming to the sideline. He wouldn't have been able to catch him even if he did see him at that point.
Just seemed like good blocking from the left side of Dallas' line to me. I guess if you wanted to you could read into it that Taven has some awareness issue or something, but I didn't get that.
The fact that a LB or safety couldn't get over there to stop Dak from sprinting up the sideline for 28 yards was a greater concern to me personally.

I'm not saying the offense has been good but the defense has been terrible as well. Mariotta was gimped and drove up and won the field on the defense, Mahomes owned us, Dak looked like Joe Montana back there yesterday. The defensive line isn't getting the pressure and these Athletic Qb's are killing us. Defense has stunk almost as bad as the offense.

BAHAHAHAHAHA
You mean the team allowing the 2nd least yards per game? Thats including the game against the Chiefs and Cowboys. Still 2nd. The team allowing the least amount of passing yards per game? The team that's allowing the 9th least ppg..... Even after these last 2 weeks? Yea... They stink almost as bad as an offense that has been held scoreless in the last 2 games in the 1st half and has put up a grand total of 21 points the past 2 weeks.
You're a joke.

All games remaining scoreless after the first overtime will be decided by sudden death ROCK-PAPER-SCISSORS.
Offense will continue to struggle. Fournette will not be enough to fix the OL issues and the QB inconsistency.

You'd be amazed to see what a difference one player can make. Since Corey Luiget returned to the Charger lineup, the Charger defense has played exponentially better, allowing 24 points in two games.

BCBCouch on Twitter posted a very clear clip of the play.
You may be right about Dak being well away from him. But if you get a chance to catch the clip, he gets turned around to where he is actually looking at Dak running out in the flat, and spins back around to face the LT.
Denny Thompson posted the original clip with the tag line "Is Taven Bryan high?"
Which was my thought when I saw it live. But honestly, it's one of the few times I've noticed him all season, not really trying to harp on the guy... was just pointing out that the Boys game had a lot of issues on D...
and then I went on to still put the L on the offense.
To your point about the LB and S, I fully agree.
Church and Smith have not played up to par, imo, this season. Church especially.

Yeah... but I think that "one player" difference is magnified when its a lineman. OL or DL.
We're talking about bringing back a RB... which is nice and all... but unless he's gonna help block... I think we're in for some troublesome days ahead. Blake under pressure is surely gonna be "bad Blake" more often than not

I rewatched it before commenting. Hot takes on a website don’t change my stance.

Not a "hot take" its a video.
Not even a gif someone made... actual video of the game.
I wish I could post it here but I'm using a work computer....
not important I suppose.

“hot take” was referring to the dumb headline you quoted
A rookie lost his bearings trying to shed a block and it looked kind of ugly.
It’s just a total non story to me.
That Titans game may come back to haunt us.
