Quote:Pass rush still non existent.

its going to be a game to game thing till the second half of the season.  Bears have a pretty good interior line and ran effectively so we weren't going to see much today especially with how quick Hoyer was getting rid of the ball.  Today we had to Blitz to get rush.  The good thing is our backfield can finally hold coverage long enough to bring the heat.
Quote:Say what you want about Gus,his defense is finally decent

Yeah.. that's true.. apart from no pass rush..

Is the fan base still split? Or is it more in favour of him losing his job?
The defense still doesn't generate any turnovers or get any hits on the QB outside of 1 or 2 plays per game. We bend pretty hard and hope the other team makes a stupid mistake. This conservative style of defense puts a lot of pressure on the offense to make plays and come through in the clutch. Which it did today if you could call it that. This team was flat as a board for almost 3 full quarters of football against a bottom feeder team. No excuse and no reason to believe it will change. Don't make the same mistake twice by keeping Gus around another year.

Keep Gus cause he won two games in terrible fashion? How about lets see him get us 10 wins and then we'll talk about it.

Gotta keep him to get to the 10 game figure though....
We barely beat a bad team with a backup qb...fire both

Hoyer>>>Cutler
The entire coaching staff is killing us.

Ramsey has become a candy butt tackler.  He.'s a diva with no proof of anything.

BB5 has a motion similar to Byron Leftwich, with less accuracy and even worse zip on the ball.

TJ Yeldon is a the starting RB when he can't find a hole unless he was given a pound of flour and a wet spot.

This team, this Jaguars team, should have blown out the Bears.  Our team is light years ahead of the Bears in terms of talent.  The fact that we had to squeak out this win just proves how aweful this coaching staff is.

What's worse is that BB5 is getting worse over time.  And Ramsey is becoming a prima-dona non tackling pansy.

That's all on coaching

Boom, nailed it.
It's OLSON.

And I'm still of the mind that they both need to be gone if they can't scrape their way to .500.

Bradley's defense is taking shape and they cut out some of the undisciplined play today, but there's still much required to be competitive amongst the elite teams.  Feels like too little too late to me.

I'm not sold on either and we have only beaten an average Colts team and a terrible Bears team by a whopping margin of 4 points. 24.8 PPG allowed is not 'good' in terms of scoring defense, but the defense is in fact noticeably better than any of the hot garbage that has been fielded since Gus has been here. Watching SNF, this division is still terrible though and anything less than an AFCS division title I say cut ties w/ everyone and move on.

Good thing you're just a fan then.

lol was referring to the coaches, but I guess in your eyes Gus has probably earned a lifetime contract with the Jaguars, that can only be broken y retirement or death.

You said everyone meaning players too. Not my fault you didn't clarify. Yeah cause I've been so Pro-Gus up till now.... I've been anti Gus since the beginning of last year.
Fire whoever idea it was to go jumbo package and then throw on the inch line in the 1st quarter.
The offense looks so regressed it's disgusting. We have to go to heavier packages to run the ball then so be it. We can't just keep getting hit behind the line handing off out of shotgun 4 wide every play. Also we need to implement more hurry up and play looser. I never feel like our offense can dictate a game. In that light it's quite remarkable that our defense did as well as it did. Aside from getting off the field faster in key situations and no turnovers they are pretty solid. The offense is the biggest disappointment by far.

Quote:A good deal of the poor execution appears to be players not being in rhythm or as in they are not exactly sure what the team is focusing on doing at points in the game.

More fluid play calling and simply just speeding up the offense some would help I think. I'm not anywhere calling for full 2 minute offense. I just want no huddles and line up by 20-15 seconds on the game clock. If you want to call an audible to change a play them, then go for it. I want Bortles to start each drive/TO, etc with two plays in his head. So if the first one works, he already knows what the second play is going to be and get them set quicker.

Bortles is at his best in organized chaos or pass heavy drives.

I don't know.  it is hard to watch the wind up that is for sure but is it worse when his receivers don't bail him out?  That interception was horrible in so many ways.
