Should the Jaguars trade for Nick Foles?
“The Jaguars have to do something, if they really want to salvage this season and become a playoff contender. Foles didn't play very well early this season, and that might be to the Jags' advantage because it's probably lessened Foles' trade value. First-round pick? Absolutely not. Second-rounder? You'd have to hold me down. Third-round pick? Do it.”

Reeks a bit of desperation, but let’s say Bortles just melts down again this Sunday; are you with Vic? I’m not so sure about trading for Foles.
I'm not on board. I don't see this front office doing anything like that. They have proven they aren't just about 1 year and immediate results. We are in a tough spot but it is still early in the season.
High Draft Picks and desperation do not go well together.

With our salary cap situation, high draft picks become more valuable to the Jags.
I don't think the Jags are trading for a QB.

Maybe a TE or OT, but even that seems like a slim chance of getting done.
Nope. You don't trade for a QB to salvage a season when the OL is in shambles and the QB you'd be benching has a high price contract (Foles contract isn't exactly something we want to add to our salary cap imo)

If we pull the plug on Bortles, it is gonna be Kessler.

That all being said... I doubt we see Bortles lose his starting job this season. The team just doesn't believe enough of the losses and struggles fall on him from reading the tea leaves.
OL, injuries, defense not playing as well as last season (ish)
It's a lot of stuff going wrong, whereas last year it was clearly a Bortles thing... this year it certainly isn't just one thing.

I don't think putting a new QB who knows little to none of our playbook behind this OL with these particular "playmakers" is going to save the season, therefore isn't worth the cost. Even a 3rd round pick.
for a 3rd I might do it.. this team needs a QB in the worst way.. I sure as hell would trade a 3rd for a QB before I would trade one for a TE or an OT
Yeah because Foles can operate with 2 seconds of  clean pocket.

Vic is a fool. Always has been.

edit:BUUWWWAAAAAA!!!  Laughing Laughing Appears the Capitano no like the Vic bash or really likes the Foles? But yet offers no opinion of his or her own to the thread.

A 3rd RD pick for Foles this late in the season? No thanks. Would rather see Kessler start if that's the case. And why wouldn't they lean on him in the event they feel that they just can't do it anymore with Bortles?

Kessler was making some pretty impressive throws during the pre season. He took some licks and lumps in Cleveland last year and protected the football. The front office saw enough in him earlier this year to trade for him.

If they're thinking of trading for ANY player right now I would think it would be for a lineman on offense. Not sure who exactly. But that would be my best guess. Unless they think they can get something out of Flowers.
A 5th rounder for Eli is the only thing that makes sense midway through a season without sacrificing much. Eli kind of sucks but there's always that small chance he can catch lightning in a bottle once again w/ some of Coughlin's vision.

I wonder who has a worse OL NYG or us

Considering we just added one of their cast offs... I'm not sure Eli makes any more sense than a Foles trade.

If anything we need someone even more mobile than Blake.
Maybe we can steal Watson from the tinhorns before Sunday?
Trade them Fournette and Lee for him maybe?
Unless it's Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, or Drew Brees... A new QB isn't saving this team, this season. Far too many injuries and OL troubles for that to happen. People need to get over it already.

This.  Blake isn't nearly as terrible as folks are making out.  The injuries on offense are what's killing us!
Vic is an idiot. Glad his brainwashing techniques are gone.
Foles? No thanks. Changing QBs now would just make it worse. Vic sure knows about QBs though, remember Henne?
nope,nope,nope
Eli is done. I'd rather take Kap than Eli......

The Eagles aren't giving up a third-rounder for a backup who won them the Super Bowl. He's a luxury they'd prefer to hold onto to make another Super Bowl run. First or even second rounder, perhaps, but not a third. From what I've read (probably more than Vic on this), the coaching staff there really likes him and values his role with Wentz. He's like their (good) Chad Henne.
