Bortles needs to be on the move every play. Running needs to be an option on every play.

RUN THE BALL.

I would also put them in pads every day, put them in a hotel, curfew, etc but I'm sure the CBA bans all that.

No.

I am not happy with the offensive production...and the play calling hasn't been great.

But I still maintain the offense has been grossly hindered by the loss of the top two LTs (though i think Walker actually had a decent game, the downblock whiff notwithstanding), and by Fournette's absence (putting aside Bortles' shortcomings for the moment).

Last year, starting about November, the offense was productive, and the passing game had a more versatile approach.  The team attacked downfield with intermediate and deep passes.

Just like Marrone didn't forget how to coach, neither did Hackett.

Hackett forgets how to call plays from week to week and during the games.

Bortles running was killing them, then it stops in the 2nd half. No runs on 2nd, 3rd and 1 or 2 yards.

Continued deep passing without a WR or OL for it to work.

Im guessing that we won't make any of the necessary changes and we might have more injuries. So my prediction is bye week 14, jags 0.
As much as I want a change in the staff it won't make any sense till after next season. No respectable coach is going to come here with Bortles as the QB, and he is a guarantee for 2019.
Install the Wishbone.
We are right back in last place again. Oh top of the division we barely knew you.

They are going to rest and heal up the bye week (CBA mandates it anyway). Honestly someone break down for me why Carlos Hyde is here? Is the front office doing things the coaches disagree relative to the game plan. I mean sure Eagles are better against the run and we have the walking wounded offensive line but why make that trade? I don't get this coaching staff.
Keep things the way they are, tanking for the draft is the the way to go.

The Hyde trade literally makes zero sense. Should of kept the pick if you had zero confidence in the offensive line. Jamal Charles would of done the same with the 6 carries.

There has to be some disconnect between FO and coaching.
Not sure about changes, I think the coaches need to regain their focus and "confidence" in the players we have on the O-line so we can start running the ball again. Maybe Tom needs to sit down with the coaching staff and see what is going on and what can be done to try and right the ship ASAP.

I see our players getting some much needed rest and hopefully we can manage to regain our dominance on defense, especially up front since we've been struggling there quite a bit. It has been an odd year for the D, just some really head scratcher games out of them.

The fan in me is confident this team comes out of the bye looking like they did in weeks 1-4 and they run the table, maybe drop the game to the Steelers, but finish the year 7-1 and with the South. 10-6 should still win the division. That's the hope anyway lol.
I see the rest doing the team good, physically and psychologically. But it won't last. After another game of a turnstile O line, which opposing teams clearly salivate to exploit, and a struggling QB given little time to make plays, we'll be back in the same boat - a demoralized play caller who can't find a WR who can catch, no running game, and a gassed defense by the third quarter.

Oh, and Doug Marrone will continue to say "obviously" and "you know" 37 times in 4 sentences while flailing to find an identity his team responds to. This season is a goner and I cringe to think of the subsequent slide back into the abyss.

Otherwise, I'm optimistic. Now gimme some more of that Krayz juice!
Fire oc Hackett....
Prediction?
We go to play the clots at home......rested and done all our "soul searching"....
and pick up where they left off. 3 and outs out the wazoo....wearing the D out to the point they can't keep up
Laughing stock of the league.....
It's going to take a QB change to fix it no matter what the other players say about BB5.
Colts game is looking tougher. They are running the ball very well.

Beat me to it. The Jags lost the bye for nearly 10 years straight besides last years anomaly. I say at least one player to IR who was previously supposed to come back healthy.

I think the Jaguars will also focus more on running the ball.  With the bye week coming, Fournette has more of a chance to get healthy, and by then, Hyde should know the offense.

Fournette HAS to be back after the bye. There's something not quite right there, something they aren't saying. Was the injury week 3 worse than they thought? Is he waiting to be 100% when others are playing less? I know hamstrings are tough to judge.

He's been a major disappointment this year and we built so much around him for this year. If he's going to miss more than 2-3 games just IR him.

I predict your wish will be granted.

You know the drill.

Surprised they haven't sought after any additional receivers today. That's honestly a glaring need. I think we have a number of receivers in the top twenty as far as drops go. We saw Thomas shipped off to the tinhorns and Tate shipped off to somewhere as well today. I forget where exactly. Brandon Marshall was just released today. Dez Bryant is still out there.

What else do they have to lose by adding these veteran receivers with proven numbers? Can't be that much worse off than we already are at the position.

Coaching move wise I don't see anything being changed. Marrone won't [BLEEP] with Hackett because of the injuries on offense and honestly Bortles was NOT their QB to begin with. I feel like they were forced to work with him because of Caldwell / Coughlin but it is what it is. You could maybe make an argument about Todd Wash. But I think the issues on defense are really just a trickle down effect of the offense not being able to do anything or not being able to do enough to win football games over the last four weeks.

But I would say right now WR needs to be looked at. Cole has been a let down this year. Chark is still trying to figure it out I guess and he's been a let down too despite a few flashes and I do mean a few. Westbrook has had his moments. Moncrief? Meh. We just have a lot to be desired at WR right now. If your QB is struggling to get it done behind a banged up offensive line then you really do need sure handed receivers. Every little error and drop now is magnified when you're losing as badly as we were prior to that Eagles game.
They need to find a blocking TE. Somehow, somewhere.

It's not my wish, I want him out on the field, just getting tired of the he's out on a Tuesday yet he's training with the team til Friday.

Just feel there's something we haven't been told in all this.
