I see 2 mocks drafting little 5'9" Kyler Murray late in the first round, and he hasn't stated that he plans to even play in the NFL. If Murray is projected to be drafted in the first round and Grier isn't, Grier is turrible.

What are you looking at? I'm seeing mid-first to at the very lowest late-2nd. I've yet to see anyone mention Grier in the 3rd round or beyond.

My gut tells me he'll be a mid-to-late first rounder. I doubt he's on the board for the Jags' second pick. Would be awesome if they could snag him in a trade down from #7 and add picks.

Rocket arms are overrated. Give me someone who can make all the throws. That is al I need.

His velocity is not off the charts, but his cut-ups are littered with him hitting receivers in stride on intermediate and deep routes. I don't have any concern about his arm. His size and lack of time under center are my only issues. And his cut-ups have quite a bit of evidence of him making reads and picking the right guy, so... not a major concern there for me either.

Rocket arms are overrated. Just not in the eyes of the NFL

They are. Tons of big arm QBs get drafted largely because they have those arms, which inevitably lead to a few "flashes" in college, the combine, etc. and some team thinks they can fix them despite them being inaccurate, not being able to read a simple defense, or not being able to handle pressure. But they have that arm strength!

He'll have to cut out a lot of those lofted passes to the sidelines and on deep outs. He's not really able to zip the ball to those spots effectively even at the college level. He's very similar to Rudolph in that his placement and touch on deep passes is superb but lacks the ability to drive it up the field regularly.
Firm believer that his accuracy and placement matter more than his lack of an above average arm though. He's very very aware of how a DB is defending his receiver and adjusting accordingly, that's something not every NFL QB can do. After watching his play from 17 through to 18 you can also see him understand where each individual WR prefers to have the ball thrown to him and adjusting to that too.
