It's bad. at 50 days, we now own the longest losing streak and drought of winning of every NFL team. The lowly Browns have won a game since we last won; hell the Raiders managed to find a way to win and they looked completely lost and have a locker room in near rebellion. It's bad folks.. I honestly don't expect us to win another game, with the injuries piling up not to mention the completely inept coaching on both sides of the ball, straight up if we hadn't started the season so well we might've been on pace for a historically bad season, I'm talking closer to Browns & Lions negative perfection, worse than the Gus Bradley years.
Caldwell, Marrone, Hackett, Wash (especially the coordinators) and yes even Coughlin need to be shown the door. This past offseason was the final nail in the coffin. We need a QB... we double down on Blake with Cousins, Alex Smith, Tyrod Taylor, Teddy Bridgewater etc. available. At the end of the first round we draft a DEFENSIVE LINEMEN on a team that is 3 deep at every DL spot... so we spend premium draft capital on a guy who doesn't play, and pass on a QB in Lamar Jackson who just won a game for the Ravens. We let go of ARob & Hurns.... only to sign Moncrief & Lee for 10 million a piece; neither of whom have ever cracked 1k and both have history of injuries (not to mention playing soft and dropping passes respectively).
Our cap was mismanaged, our QB position was mismanaged, our draft was mismanaged. This year is an even bigger letdown than 2008. We need wholesale changes starting from the top or we will not resume winning.
"Winning is what this thing is all about" "I'm trying to win lunch" -Coughlin
If this organization cares about winning, how can you justify running the ball on 3rd and 5. How can you justify continuing to play zone coverage and getting beat despite having multiple probowlers and returning largely the same defense that was damn near historically good. This organization does not care about winning and it shows when the team continues to find ways to lose in progressively more maddening fashion and yet there is ZERO accountability, which was another thing that was talked about in tandem with the emphasis on winning.
Nothing Changes if NOTHING CHANGES. The fans deserve better than this.
Football just sucks now. Stop watching.
lowly browns? their future is much brighter than ours right now... put that into perspective

I love this team too much to be apathetic, although it's sooooo painful to watch; this reminds me of Bradley's last season just writhing in the dark wondering why until finally the news comes that he's fired and that changes are coming. I'm just tired of losing; and to know that the losing streak will likely continue is disheartening.

Then to get kicked in the nuts when they decide to keep the entire Bradley staff.

Honestly, it's no different than years before last year. I have become numb to it all now. I was close to not caring anymore and then last year, they showed hope. But we put all our chips in on what we had and not enough on depth and quality offense players outside of our running backs. I don't honestly know when or how long it will take to get back up after this year....
as long as doug is HC jags will never have a winning season again. just like he did with the bills, one winning season, then after that nothing but loseing. Fire doug and all his coaching staff. Ifhe is still here after the offseason its loseing season until his contract runs out. even then they will probbley extend his contract unless teams been moved to london.
What kind of garbage thread is this? There have been teams who have gone 0-16. This isn't nearly as bad as that. There has been 3 weeks of happiness this season. Would you rather have had zero? This thread is useless.
Christ, what a bunch of whining.
Time to get excited about the draft....
This falls on Dave for not giving Bortles the weapons he needs to succeed and also sticking with/resigning Bortles, the coaches for not benching Bortles, and Bortles for just not being very good.
What are the odds of us not drafting a QB early and the front office/coach sticking with Bortles next year?
I swear, this franchise truly follows the script of the Major League movies.
Major League: Underdogs whose owner is trying to move the team. They beat all odds, have a great season
Major League 2: They are crappy again
Major League 3: Back to the Minors

You just made my point for me, if the season started today... wed be 0-16. Yea i enjoyed those 3 weeks of happiness but after 5 weeks of everything going wrong and finding ways to lose, on sunday everything WENT RIGHT they ran the ball, they didnt turn it over, they played good defense. Every factor they could control went well and they STILL found a way to lose. When that happens it dashes hopes bc everything going right like that wont happen every week. And unless changes happen were doomed to repeat this disaster next year. Call it whining but its more apt to call it pure frustration.

No. Your point was about a streak. Which I made the point about this streak being a non-issue because it's inane and there are worse streaks to whine about to which the Jags aren't apart of. You didn't read my post at all did you?
What makes it so bad this year is even an average offense and we would still be in the playoff talk. Defense has been down from last years magic but they are doing enough.

So because there are streaks worse than this one, people can't be upset about the losing streak? Thanks for whining about people whining.

Nope. Again you didn't read my post at all. This whole thread is useless and should have never been made.

They're already laying the groundwork to blame the entire season on the injuries and run it back more or less as is for 2019...so I'd say the odds that Blake gets legit competition is lower than you'd think.

We already saw this coming. They'll give Bortles a pass and this coaching staff a pass in 2019 but if these [BLEEP] don't at least attempt to draft a top QB prospect they're letting this city down even further. Tired of it. 5th year [BLEEP] PRO should be able to make plays around him. He just doesn't have it.
And as far as the offensive line being so bad. Watson, Rodgers, Manning, Prescott, Carr, Wilson, Stafford, Mariota, Ryan, Cousins, Wentz and Goff have all eaten more sacks this year than Bortles has and yet they still look more competent in the pocket under pressure than he does.
Missing a wide open Moncrief and over throwing an open Chark in that loss on Sunday is enough for me. I am done. Time to move on. He has to see those [BLEEP] plays pre snap and he has to hit those on the money. Those are "gimme" plays for efficient offenses. You see good passers taking advantage of that all the time. If the CB is playing 10 [BLEEP] yards off your man, snap it, take the quick pass, and let's [BLEEP] go.
The hesitating, the lack of confidence and trust in himself. It's terrible to watch. They play conservatively because they can't trust him. If they did we wouldn't have [BLEEP] around and lost that AFCC game. Just a fact now at this point. You either trust your QB with his arm or you don't. This team doesn't.
Oh I know I've been warning about it too, but now we have it from Coughlin's mouth himself so it's even more relevant.
