Rolling Stones - Wednesday April 24, 2019

Anyone thinking about going ?  Tix go on sale Friday Nov. 30

I saw them ~ 25 years ago at RFK Stadium (Washington DC).  Great show.

I may hit the SweetWater 420 Fest in Atlanta the weekend prior to this so I'm weighing my options at this time.
I already saw them. In 1976! Good God, that was 42 years ago!
I can't believe Keith Richards is still alive, never mind touring with a rock band. Cheers, good sir, you're still living the life many only dream of.
Planning to go assuming we can get tickets. Pre-sale is 10AM today!

When they were at their height. Man, that must have been a hell of a concert.
I wouldn't waste my time to go there for free to see old geriatric farts who still think they are young.

Because you wouldn't know good music if it hit you in the head. But why do you think they think they are young?

Because old people don't play rock n roll silly, they switch to classical and soft rock.

Looking at your avatar, you don't listen to the Rolling Stones.  You listen to that mumble rap they play on the loud speakers during the pre-game player warmups.
Is this the official "I need money" tour?

Well...   it was in the Gator Bowl, they were playing on a stage in the North End Zone, and I was sitting in the stands behind the South End Zone, so they were very far away.  Like little ants.

But still, a hell of a concert.  Actually 1975.  43 years ago.

That's true, and the list is even missing some names. Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Stevie Ray Vaughn, etc.

Perhaps, but I really doubt it. As much as I still hear them on FM radio, those royalty checks must still be pretty nice.

I always find it interesting when bands or musicians live long enough, or stay with it long enough, to become their own tribute act. And that's even happened to the mighty Rolling Stones, hasn't it? I wonder how many people who will be attending this concert are interested in hearing any new music they've released. I doubt many, if any. Hell, can anyone name a Stones song released in the last twenty years without looking it up?

That is the thing. A lot of these old musicians use their popularity to force people to listen to their "new stuff". My mom went to Billy Joel when he was here and said it was the worst show she has ever seen because of a lot of new stuff.
