Defenses don’t care about Blake’s running. They don’t respect him in the slightest.
That's mainly because this team has never tried to run Bortles, ever. They're way too scared all of the time to try something that might work.
Bortles isn't good and Kessler isn't any better. He might have a tighter and quicker release, but lets not act like he wasn't missing guys and leaving plenty of plays out on the field as well.
At the end of the day, it's best for both this team and Bortles to just go separate ways. I wouldn't mind if Marrone and Wash followed him on his way out either.
That is my whole contention is that we have the wrong coaches. They need to be gone #firemarone. instead of eating 16.5 mil bring in a spread offense guy Draft one of them spread QBs start blake and when the rookiee is ready you can move him in. if per chance a change of Offense makes Blake a dual threat and our offense is productive even better. but to dump him eat the money cant sign a replacement and to start a rookiee makes no since. unless there is a rookiee in this years draft that can come in right away and be a franchise QB. Just my thoughts.

Bortles isn't anywhere close to a spread Offense guy though... Honestly he'd probably look even worse in that kind of Offense because he's simply bad at throwing a football.
They're far better off eating his dead cap and saving $4.5m than paying him the $21m hes due next year.
Everybody agrees that Malik Jackson and Barry Church are gone this off season. You cut them, along with Bortles and his dead cap hit is gone. Cutting Malik and Church free up around $12m and with Bortles' $4.5m freed up, there's no hit.
Cutting Parnell opens up another $6-7m of cap space, with no dead cap hit as well. As well as a few other players they could drop without any dead cap hit also.
There's multiple things they can and will do imo, to negate Bortles $16m dead cap hit.

In other news, the sky is blue. Except at night, then it's typically black in these parts.
Lol...no kidding. Wasn't that obvious when they named Kessler the starter for the rest of the season two weeks ago.

As a human being I feel bad for the dude, but it's not like he wasn't given every chance and incentive to perform better these past few years.
Hell he's made more money in one offseason than most of us have ever made in our lives. If he doesn't find another team to play for i'm sure he'll find a way to move forward. Seems like a decent guy off the field anyway.
But this team needs a real QB

I rooted for the guy despite a strong instinct not to all the way to the bitter end. (even if I was critical of him in the process)
There's just no holding out hope anymore. Way past the tipping point now. He had every opportunity IMO.
Maybe he'll get a backup role with a team that has an amazing line and receiving corps and get one more chance to shine due to injury ahead of him. Outside of that - I think his glory days are probably done.
That's fine. He'll be a wealthy man if he invests wisely.

As high as we should be drafting, this should be a no brainer. Rookie QB here we come! They should probably go ahead and dump Dave now so that whoever is making the pick can get in here with our scouts and start studying the QB class and which ones strengths best fit the teams strenghts. It makes no sense for Caldwell to be working with the scouts now if he's not going to be here.

No doubt. I've said before that he has most of the thing's you'd want in a QB. Mobility, athletic ability, work ethic, physical toughness, leadership. But when it comes to the most important ability, passing on time and on target...he was just not gifted with that particular ability.

We made a decision when we drafted the guy and have compounded the problem for 5 years now. Is it really a shock that it is time to do something different? We have a mess across the board masked by one year of "success". I feel bad for all my fellow fans. We have no offense after years of drafting. Do I think we can bounce back next year? Yeah sure but the rest of the division has passed us.
Honestly this isn't a likeable team either from a national media perspective. I think this year sucks all the air out of Tony Boselli's hall of fame campaign. Ugh so frustrating.

Dude can’t even hit simple routine passes.

Can we just sign Bridgewater or someone with some kind of charismatic ability?

I mean bridgewater should be in a good spot now backup Brees till he's done and take over with kamara and Thomas that's what I'd do.

Just imagine if we traded for Teddy. He would of been on IR the first game after Bortles was benched behind this line

Yeah, that is frustrating. We went from obscurity to the up-and-coming team to watch last year and now it just seems to get uglier every week. As if the losses aren't bad enough, we have all the other stupidity; Jalen's mouth, the London embarrassment, Fournette's suspension.....

Mahomes has passing ability that rivals Aaron Rodgers. Don't ever put Blake Bortles in the same league as Patrick Mahomes II. Good lord, the sheer ignorance.

Pretty sure i did not put him in the same league as mahomes( although they both are in the National Football League) what i said was if BB was in the offense that mahomes is in he would be a better QB. That is my opinion and with out seeing him in that offese we will never know if im right or wrong. That was more about the fact that the coaches do not know how to adjust to the players they have or make any adjustments at all. just run 4net into the centers butt is all they know.

Pretty sure setsuna put Grier and Grossman in the same "league" as each other.

You'll see. He's a gunslinger that will have a ton of turnovers and won't improve.

Jags workout Mike Reilly
The Jags worked out Mike Reilly of my home town Edmonton Eskimos of the CFL. He has been the one bright spot for the team and takes an absolute beating. By no means a starter in the NFL he might be a decent depth guy and is an absolutely great leader.
