Wash was doing just fine in 2017. I think the bottom line is this.
Campbell had 14.5 sacks last year. We all knew he would never do this again.
Jackson had 7 sacks last year. This year he flat out quit, with just 1 sack.
Yannick had double digit sacks, and 5 or 6 Forced Fumbles. This year he is being chipped and doubled.
Fowler had 8 sacks and a few forced fumbles is not even on the team anymore. Nobody has come close to replacing him. Terrible move to let him walk.
Yes Telvin is bad in coverage but our defense works great when our Dline is hitting the QB. We had 7 defensive TDs last year, and again we all knew that wouldn’t happen this year.
Last year Bouye low key outplayed Ramsey. This year both have been hurt.
This is just the defensive side of the ball. Don’t get me started about letting, not one, but two 1k wide receivers walk, and replacing them with Moncrief. Pfffft
With Bortles finally sinking like we all knew he would, this team is honestly in full rebuild mode.
We need to stop ignoring the TE position. And for Pete’s sake, get me a QB that has a natural release that can throw the ball down field.
I’m happy with Fournette, Linder, Robinson, and Flowers on offense. Lee will get a chance to come back, but go get a big time WR. Chark ain’t gonna cut it, and neither is Cole.
Marrone is still the man for the job.
You almost had me. But you lost me with Flowers on offense and Marrone still being the man for the job. Neither guys are fit to be in the positions they're currently standing in. This whole staff needs to be out of here by New Year's Day. Caldwell should have already been sent packing last year when they brought in Coughlin to help fix his [BLEEP] up's.
What the defense did last year was rare. It's even more rare this year because the division got better when they saw the returns of their healthy, legitimate franchise caliber QB's in Luck and Watson. Again, just showing that our unwillingness to improve the QB position has crippled this team.
But Caldwell and this coaching staff need to go. You knew what we had in Marrone, this staff and Bortles in the AFC Championship game back in January of this year. We all saw it. We saw a scared coaching staff unwilling to trust and put the ball in Bortles hands. And we saw the same conservative approach on defense that led to a 3rd and routinely [BLEEP] impossible down and distance to go get converted.
Inexcusable [BLEEP]. They ALL need to go at the same time. No more [BLEEP] holdovers or leftovers from a garbage era of football. We got LUCKY last year. That WAS a mirage. Just like it was back in 2005 and 2007. You just can't trust this staff. And you ESPECIALLY can't trust Caldwell moving forward.
