They said he was only 32 on the broadcast yesterday. Harrison played well all the way up to 37 really. It was his last year that he fell off the cliff
Trade him... Trade him now

#29 overall is a top pick now LMAO...

29th out of 253 picks? Sigh

All "1st round draft picks" are considered top picks.

Is Ngakoue down that big in production? He is still second on the team in sacks and only 1 sack behind calis only 4 behind his total from last year, and calis is 5 and 1/2 behind his number from last year I think they playing ok it is the fact that the rest of the dline  around them have fallen off so much. Malik has dropped off so much this year going from 9 last year to 2 this year. And then you take away the 10+ from Fowler’s number. That is the big difference it is everyone’s else not calis and Yannick.

No.

Still getting pressure pretty consistently.

We just played more mobile QBs this year and several OCs were smart enough to dial up more quick passes.

Ok Bill Belichick. Although, the concept might be more beneficial in the long term rather than the short term. I wouldn't trade him because I think he holds more value to us now than what we could get for him. But depending on the offer, long term-wise, could be an option.
We knew Campbell was good last year and has been this year though this year pff has him even better. Best edge rusher in the league for 2018!

Our cap situation may not make it feasible, unfortunately.

Crazy that the rest of that list is playoff teams.

Dude is a monster. Literally.

Hope we keep him right here.

Actually, if I remember correctly, we can get under the projected cap without touching Calais's contract.   Imagine releasing Barry Church (done), Malik Jackson, Austin Seferian Jenkins, Donte Moncrief, and Jermey Parnell.   Those moves would undoubtedly but us way under the cap.

ASJ staying would hinge on his off-field weirdness, but they could save 4.75 mil cutting him. His lack of dependability may warrant a move.
Parnell would save them 6 mil - but complete lack of depth and no clear starters at RT/RG yet make that uncertain.
Moncrief isn't under contract in 2019 - his walking has no effect on cap good or bad.

However - releasing Jackson and Church will have a major impact. They will have to do more, but those two moves will handle the majority of the clearance needed to repair their cap situation.

If they trade Fournette (doubtful) that clears another 6 mil next year.

Another longshot possibility is restructuring one of the 4 or 5 remaining big contracts on the team to push some money back to 2021 and clear a few more million from the 2019 cap.

No it wont, he isnt going anywhere
After all expected cuts this year we should have around 35 million in cap space to work with albeit with a Ramsey deal looming
We'll see. Like TMD... so may so sure of themselves with little reason to be so.

With his play this year, the other likely cuts, and our cap number, it is not little reason to be so
Need to hold on to him for at least one more year
Holding on to Calais is an obvious priority for this team. Not doing so would be a major mistake. You get rid of Malik Jackson and Dareus if need be.
The Cap situation is somewhat straight forward. Philly is a prime example of what you can do to generate cap space by converting salaries to bonuses
Calais is going nowhere.
He will be needed for this culture war coming up with TC/Marrone vs. the players.
My point has nothing to do with the cap.

First, let me be clear. Calais is probably the best FA signing in the history of the Team. 25 sacks in two years is more than anyone could ask for. They are the two best years of production in his career, and he frankly got hosed this year for not making consecutive pro bowls ( I would be interested to see if he is on the ALL PRO LIST.) He's one of the best players on the team and part of me would love to see him back in teal next year for us to make another run at it.

The business side is this, he's going to be 33 at kick off next year. Time is undefeated. Yes, he shows no affects now but we know that within the next 1-2 years there is going to be a drop off in play and we won't be seeing J.J. Watt light, we'll be seeing the average rotational strong side end. The smart teams Trade players in this age range before the decline happens to maximize draft capital. Am I saying make it a fire sale and let him go for a 5th round pick just to clear cap space? no. I am saying if someone calls with a second and a fourth then its in the long term interest of the team to make the trade for long term value.
