Didnt want Herbert anyways
12-26-2018, 02:17 PM
I kinda thought he would return to school.

Wanted nothing to do with Herbert, but this now is officially the Haskins sweepstakes.

That may be true, but it'll just make it harder for us to get "our guy," because the pool of QB's just shrunk.

Good, a better chance at Grier

Down to Haskins and Lock. Lock good too. Very strong arm and compact quick release, good mobility and built strong to take hits.

No, it's not. The more QB's that enter the draft, the better chance the team has at getting the QB they want, because there is more to pick from. Now, QB needy teams will all be focusing on a smaller pool of players and the chances of getting the guy you want goes down.

Agree, I'm good with it

I'm not worried. If they take Grier I'm sure Lock will be there.

QB pool shrinking ad we win meaningless games.

Thank goodness. I was worried Tom Coughlin would fall in love with Herbert and draft him. This might be a hot take, but I think Herbert is essentially Blake Bortles with a spiral. Big, tall guy who can scramble a bit, but who routinely makes dumb decisions with the football. Herbert might be slightly better, but I don't view him as anything close to a franchise QB.
Haskins, on the other hand, is legit. We might need to trade up to get him, but I think it'd be worth it.

Marrone staying, Jags blowing up draft slot, Herbert stays in school, Tyree Jackson officially in the transfer portal (not guaranteed to stay in school, but likely)...can't imagine a worse Christmas for the franchise.

Good. I thought he could use another year in school.

It was Herbert or bust.
Looks like we busted.
BAP... and a QB whenever, later.
Looks like our success will ride on a veteran QB signing.

Herbert isn't even that good.
I know the TV tells you who is supposed to be the #1 overall pick or whatever, but the TV lies man.
Maybe you watch a lot of Oregon ball and you like what you see.... to each their own certainly.
What veteran are we signing that is going to give us success?
Flacco?
Tannehill?
C'mon man.
Grier and Lock are absolutely worth of top ten selections. No reason we can't or shouldn't get one of them.

Whenever a player with like this returns to school, I can’t help but think they must be a complete fool. Trading 1 year of NFL earnings for at most 70k of education/ food/ lodging is insane. Not to mention there is always a chance you ruin your draft stock through poor play or injury. Good luck young man.

Apparently his brother is an incoming freshman TE for the football team. And Herbert really wanted to play with his little brother.

Whatever is left of this QB class behind Herbert is absolute meh.
Look at the scrub QBs who have busted out and/or disappointed who were good enough to be considered the #1 overall pick.
And you're trying to sell me on a QB, any QB, who may be the best of this sorry class who can't earn the #1 overall position?
Oof.
Yes, it does appear like a vet of Flacco level does give us the best chance of winning next year.
Not a good crop, certainly nothing special at the top.
Better luck season after next.
Settle in. The ride will be long, and not likely to be fun at times.
