What hires / fires did you like or dislike

Any guesses as to who takes over at WVU, possibly USC, etc.

Who gets fired next season (Taggert? Jeremy Pruitt UT?)
Les Miles is back? He's got quite the uphill battle at Kansas.

Mel Tucker has some decent pieces in Colorado and they started off hot this past season. I could see them going to a bowl game his first year.
Hugh Freeze to Liberty is very interesting.
Les MIles got a good gig at Kansas to get paid ~ $3m/year to win a few games per season.

Colorado was good a few years ago so I think if Tucker can get a few recruits from the LA area he can keep them near the top of the Pac 12 South division unless Chip Kelley  gets UCLA going and USC hires a real coach.

I was shocked Dana Holgerson left WVU but after seeing his future QB (since Will Grier sat out the bowl game), I can understand why he's getting out of there.  The backup QB really sucked and they don't have any D there as well.

Can't wait to see a GT QB actually line up in the shotgun formation and throw a pass.

I thought so too. I think his name was being floated around some much more notable coaching vacancies when he took that job.

Can't help but wonder how much of that decision was motivated by those subjects of which we shall not speak of in the football forums.

Agree --- I thought he'd end up a mid-major like Temple or something, not a very religious affiliated university.   The good thing is that if he has really turned his life around then Liberty should be a very good choice to keep on the straight and narrow.
as a MACtion fan, the McIlwain hire could be interesting in a few years, if he can bring in the UM/MSU leftovers. Looking forward to all the Tuesday night superfans dressing as sharks when CMU comes to town...

I see Les' hire as a Frank Solich type of hire - expectations aren't going to be nearly as high as they were at LSU - bring in some guys, get to a bowl, and you can basically stay there till you retire. Good move for all parties involved, honestly.

The Liberty hire was one heckuva head-scratcher.

My early candidate for a firing? Ed Orgeron, whether deserved or not. I like him and root for his success, but I think the expectations are way higher than he can achieve.
