The HOF has been a joke for a while when you look at who they let in alot of times. Its almost as much about popularity as the pro bowl voting. Don't really respect the Football Hall the same as the Baseball HOF. Just seems like most things NFL related are second tier to other sports. Rules, HOF voting, the officiating, etc.
