Right.  Special snowflakes like you only make the most special, most correct votes.  Want a cookie?

No thanks, I'm on Keto. My vote was not to to protest the poor choices of the two major parties, it was affirmation for a party and candidate who shares my worldview. Your narrow and immature thinking puts the actions of others into simple binary choices you can comprehend, the world is much larger than that.

I'm sure it's really taxing on the brain to constantly pretend to be something you aren't. I'm sure he's not far from a full on melt down at this point.

He kind of went from writing out thought out dissertations to just being insulting. Seems like it happened kind of quickly.

I'm fine.  Just having a laugh.
I actually know libertarians in real life that are also doing keto.  I actually work with some.  It's weird how trends work.  These are all guys that hopped on the last few trends before this one too.  I wonder how many other trends y'all are participating in that I don't know about.
"How can you tell someone's doing keto?"
"I don't know, how?"
"Don't worry about it, they'll tell you soon enough."

Bad thoughts and doing stupid things are one thing. Impersonating Michael Jackson, to me, is no big deal. But being in blackface with a guy in a Klan outfit is a bridge too far. The Klan was/is a domestic terrorist organization. How can you claim to represent black people?

I suppose everyone has to determine their own red line. Some people wouldn't have a problem with a Nazi uniform. Personally, I think it's a good sign in American society when people are being called out for being racist or being too stupid or insensitive to understand why their actions would be perceived as such.

In Northam's case it was 1984, not 1954. If he doesn't get that I don't think he's smart enough to be anyone's Governor.

Were even alive in 1984?

Except that Johnson and Weld were not libertarians. The Libertarian Party has been moving further and further away from small government and from freedom.

I agree with you on Gary Johnson, and went Keto, the concepts not the strict calculations, before there was Keto. Got me off Metformin.

Is Keto just a new name for Atkins Diet?

In any case I've been low-carbing since January 3rd (except for the two "free pie" incidents).

It's similar but Keto allows less protein with a 20% daily cap. Your daily calorie intake is 5% carbs, 20% protein and 75% fat.

They were perfectly fine as relatively mainstream Libertarian candidates.

Trumpettes like to throw that out there to scare the old folks. I certainly do blame the angry middle-aged white male who got Donald nominated and elected. There were plenty of viable alternatives. But no - the aforementioned group had to have a juvenile fit and nominate the guy they saw on The Apprentice. Now the joke is on them. And the rest of us.

But I'm not laughing.

Hey - "Grab them by the [bleep]" worked.

Adam, we all need to be a little more careful about assigning motives to people.
Sammy said he preferred Ben Carson.
I agree with you, Adam, that Trump was the worst possible choice among the Republican nominees, and I think anyone who voted for him in the primaries made a terrible, incorrect choice... but I won't speculate about why they did it.  They each had millions of different reasons.
But I have a lot more sympathy for the folks who voted Trump in the general election, when the choices were just, Trump, Clinton, or protest vote.

I will say, that frankly, my father, a man who was raised in South Carolina during segregation and the Civil Rights movement, who believes black people are mentally inferior to whites, that women need to be put back in their place because they know less than men, that all Muslims are terrorists--LOVES Donald Trump, because Trump represents him.  They speak alike.  They think alike.  And I say this believing that my dad is a good man.  He's friendly and outgoing, he'd never harm anyone intentionally if they didn't deserve it, he always made sure we were provided for and worked his [BLEEP] off.  But he's absolutely a racist and a misogynist, and those are the characteristics that most attracted him to Trump, because Trump "says what he's really thinking."

Not everyone voted for Trump because of this.  But a significant portion absolutely did.

Trump being a racist is actually a myth that has never been backed up by a thread of legitimate evidence.

I'm sorry that your father is a piece of crap. I really am.

But for you to assign his piece of crapness on the rest of us is pretty sad.

A significant portion? That's just stupid to say. Based on what? Based on your father? Based on your tiny experiences in your tiny, insignificant life?

Seriously... my life and my accomplishments aren't much either - but to stand there and say this generalized crap is asinine and adds nothing of value to anything.

Personal attacks and anger.  Surprise surprise.

I don't accept his stupidity.  And I said that not everyone voted for Trump for these reasons--and I think the Democratic party made a huge error labeling all Trump supporters as such.  I think it's one of the reasons the election was lost and misprojected, other than Hillary being just as incompetent as Trump himself.  Keep in mind that this board is a very small microcosm of even Jacksonville itself, to say nothing of the nation.  I never called any of you racists.  I said that a lot of people voted for Trump because he convinced them that being a horrible human being was going to be okay again--mocking the disabled, encouraging violence against opponents, playing on the fear of all those brown people outside our borders who aren't like us and want to destroy our way of life.

Where I live, racists have come out of the woodwork.  Memes mocking Mexicans flood my facebook.  A friend of mine who went to my church shared a photo that said "We should replace police sirens with the national anthem so all the criminals stop running and kneel" (he's also a cop).  People who have been afraid of Arabs but more afraid of backlash aren't afraid of the latter any more--they just let the bigotry shine.  It has a lot to do with the regional politics of the Texas panhandle, but I can tell you that racists (who would never say they're racist) feel exceedingly empowered to flaunt it now.  There have been people who have actually said to me, "It's Trump's America.  I can say whatever the [BLEEP] I want" followed by several racial slurs.

I know the evidence is anecdotal.  You don't have to be so [BLEEP] defensive.  I'm just letting you know that this is happening, not trying to call you out as a racist.
