Got out of Hurricane Matthew and went to North Carolina for the weekend. Had tickets to The BOA 500.. Pretty good seats. Great race.. The race was scheduled for Saturday Night, but it got postponed until Sunday at noon because of the weather. Just figured I'd share a pic and some videos..
Nice little wreck happened right in front of us. Had the phone cam going through it all

Cool deal! A race at Charlotte would be a fun one to go to, but I would rather have seats a bit higher up.

Not me.. As close as possible.. Love the smell of that Sunoco fuel and the tiny pieces of rubber from their tires pelting ya as they go by.. Just awesome..

I just don't like the tiny pieces of rubber ending up in my beer.

If things are done right, by the time the race starts, you quit caring haha
That's pretty cool. Do you also listen to it through earphones or are you a 100% live action person.
In any event, pretty cool videos showing the up close and personal aspect of the race.

I don't do the whole headphone deal. A lot of people do though, especially the ones who have a favorite driver cause they tune into their pit radio. I don't have a favorite driver, I just like the racing in general.
Yeah man, totally different kinda animal from seeing it on TV.. Those cars blow by ya at near 200 mph speeds, it's really impressive. Mix that in with the smell of the fuel and exhaust.. Heaven..

Don't forget the beer and babes as well.

Yuuuup.. What I like is that Nascar lets you bring in a 8x8 cooler full of almost you want, just no glass bottles. Saves ya on $10 beers.
No offense but those are terrible seats. I went to the Daytona 500 in 2009 and sat 4 rows up.
I thought I was in great seats. I couldn't see anything.
I walked to the top of the bleachers and could see everything.
It's opposite world when it comes to nascar vs NFL.
Nose bleed section is the way to go.

I've had the nose bleed seats at Bristol a few years back. Still fun, saw it all, but I like being up front with the action.

In Daytona, the best seats that I've gotten were the bottom row on the second level right at the entrance to the pits.

I know this is a NASCAR thread, but in the same auto racing vein this comment made me think of drag racing. I've only been to one NASCAR race when I was young, a Bristol race either 01 or 02, but I've been to several drag races over the past several years and man is it a spectacle. Going to the pits when they're working on cars, watching the crazy people standing behind the cars when they test run them in the pits, and just the roar and rumble when they take off/go past when they race is crazy.
