Hyde has basically little or no trade value.  Maybe we trade Hyde and our 7th for a late 6th rounder or something.  Not even a full draft pick.

Malik Jackson is also nearly worthless.  It's a deep, deep draft at DT and it was last year too, so there isn't much need to pay a huge salary to a rotational player when the league is full of younger/cheaper players.

I mean, it's worth a shot - but most likely both players will simply be cut.  Huge whiff giving up the 5th rounder for Hyde last year.  No one else was willing to give up that much, so not sure how anyone could think his value didn't decline after his awful time in Jacksonville where he was taken out of the rotation at the end anyway.
Hyde is still under contract, which means the Jags can say, "Hey, if you don't cough up the six we're asking for, we'll just sit on the guy until someone does." I still think he can be a productive rotational back, but he was so buried last year behind an awful OL that you'd never have known.

Jackson might have some late-round trade value too. I could imagine something like a team that wants an extra defensive lineman calling and saying, "Hey, we like Jackson but we really don't want to have to bid on him in free agency. Would you like a seventh-round pick for him?".

That fifth rounder was traded under the desperation of trying to salvage a season, so I wouldn't really consider that a baseline for any future trade. Plus with him being rumored as the player that refused to go into the game, that's not a good look if you're trying to recoup some value. That said, I do think if a team likes his style a conditional seventh with similar conditions to the Kessler trade is what we could realistically hope for.
Malik Jackson has no dead money on his contract and is still shy of 30 and one year removed from a probowl appearance. if Suh departs the Rams i could see them throwing a 7th to get a running mate for Aaron Donald. There's a lot of teams with capspace this offseason so im sure one of them has interest in a trade. But if there wasn't something already agreed upon, or at least deep in the works, why would Malik still be on the roster at this point?

I'd be thrilled with this; it will give them more options to trade up in the draft.

And it is clear this is the plan since they are trying to get it done pre draft.
Probably will get something from Jackson. I do not think anything from Hyde.

Yeah if it's anything maybe a 2020 7th or something conditional actually
Hyde to me is serviceable, but the Jags can find a 4rd or 6th rd talent that could take his place, play on special teams and save 4M off the cap. Jags loose 5th rd pick and IMO won't get anything back. Teams will wait for him to be released. Looks like a bonehead move but Jags were trying to salvage 2018 when they made the move.

Jackson I like, but if the Jags can get 4th for him sweet. He is cut either way. I kind of wish he never lost that weight.

Hyde is worth a Firehouse sub and Jackson a Subway 6 inch.

....so you're saying you value Hyde more? Tongue
Never really liked the Carlos Hyde signing, and we need to save cash. As for Malik, good riddance. Dude was solid in 17', but his heart was never really in it. I am, however, concerned about Bryan's ability to replace him.. let's hope he looks a little more polished in his sophomore campaign.

I mean, how many rookies would be as good or better than CH right now? A lot. Malik is light years away from earning his salary of last year.

I would take that deal right now. I would be shocked if we got a conditional 7th for both.
Cute how the FO guys think there are people out there who are as dumb as them and they are willing to trade for Hyde haha
Jags looking to trade Hyde and Jackson.

This reminds me of owning a Fantasy Football Team when you place Duke Johnson, Jesse James, and Marcus Mariota out on the trading block hoping somebody bites.
