1.  Tannehill did not have as bad of a reputation as Bortles did.

2.  We DID manage to get a 6th round pick out of Gabbert...so perhaps things balanced out.

Bet that tasted good.  Aren't we taking a big cap hit for bottles?  Guess I don't get the diff.

Tannehill is quite a bit better than Bortles, and actually costs a bit less. His problems is injuries, otherwise Tannehill is a perfectly average starting QB. Bortles is a borderline starter at best, at this point. Also Tannehill is a lot more accurate than Bortles (mid sixties vs high fifties).
