Honestly I don't know. But signing him to a cheap contract can't hurt with our trouble at left guard right now.
Quote:It directly correlates with the Jags win/loss record at the time said player is released.

With a current record of 1-3, yes, nearly every player released will get a thread.

If the Jags just happened to be 4-0 ( I know, I know, you don't have to say it) you would not see a lot of player released threads, only those where depth is needed on the team or where a perceived weak spot needs an upgrade.

If it's preseason, it gets based on the last season's record.

Understood
Browns claimed him. I think it's safe to say his career is over.

Jonathan Cooper is one of the older players on the ultra youthful Browns.

Considering the Browns situation,  what do they have to lose on taking a flier on Cooper?

I lost track how many QBs the Browns have used in recent seasons.   Even this season,  they are already on at least their 4th starting QB.

For every QB injury,  they are that much closer to the 1st pick in the 2017 Draft.   What they do with is another story.

The last time I counted it was around 22 or 23.

Compare that to the Packers since 1993,  excluding the 2013 season.   In all those other years,  they basically only had 2 QBs playing significant minutes.
