Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone told reporters that rookie pass rusher Josh Allen isn't likely to participate in minicamp next week. Allen suffered a knee bruise during OTAs.
Nobody misses this much time in football due to a “bruise”. Just sounds weird at this point, not at a panic level yet but there is some concern. Hopefully everything is ok come training camp.
Good, let him work his mind and rest his body. These rookies have been grinding constantly since Spring of last year. Spring ball, then the college season, then straight into getting ready for the combine and draft process. Then straight into NFL rookie camps etc. etc.
If he's still not practicing come August, when it starts to matter, then I'll start worrying. Until then, get in all the mental work you can young man.

Yeah, they can. A bone bruise can be as painful, and linger just as long as a broken bone. When that bone bruise is on the knee of your top draft pick, and you're a team that has seen a player of similar pedigree go on the IR before he played a single snap in the past, you're going to bubble wrap the guy and let him completely heal. Don't try to read more into this than is actually real.
Considering these top draft picks have been going since spring camp with their schools last year, giving the guy a break to rest up and heal up is a good thing.
Giants fans celebrating the selection of Daniel Jones tonight -- Lol

I completely agree with that, especially with the depth we already have on our defensive line. I see no need to rush him into things. It's going to be a long season.
