How about John Broussard? Didn't he also catch a TD pass on the first play of the season?

John Broussard came to mind immediately. I don't think it was the first play of the season, but it was early in that game and Garrard hit him on a skinny post for a 50 or 60 yard TD.  I remember being elated.  Then I never heard the name Broussard called ever again!

Yeah, Vicbow, that was a happy time. Here are JB's lifetime stats below, looks like we missed the other 3 catches. The TD was a 47 yarder according to Wiki. Good times.

I beat you to it.

LMBO, yeah you won. I can't even blame Spell Check on this one. But I want to though.

Quote:Any off-radar receivers or defensive backs showing notable "flashes" to you at this way-too-early stage?

Wide receiver Tyre Brady, an undrafted rookie free agent from Marshall, has flashed a couple of times; he has impressive size at 6-feet-3, 211 pounds. Undrafted wide receiver Dredrick Snelson from Central Florida also has looked good at times. And don’t rule out undrafted wide receiver Michael Walker from Boston College making the roster; he has skills and a resume as a returner. I haven’t noticed the undrafted rookie defensive backs as much, though second-year veteran cornerbacks Quenton Meeks and Tre Herndon – both of whom made the Jaguars as undrafted rookie free agents last season – again appear to be practicing well.

Toby Gerhart was prehaps one of the best camp players in Jags history.  We need to add his name to the practice field ring of honor.

This dude used to hit the holes and run right through the Jags D --- definitely a practice squad freak -- superhuman !!!

Look at him below deceptively appear as if he is taking it wide prior to hitting the hole with a defying low center of gravity.

Half of his career yds came that one year.  Then everyone found out all you had to do was jam him at the line.  Goodbye career.

You can't see the rest of this picture, but I am guessing that his blockers are all over by Henne, but Toby decided to run towards a few LBs who otherwise wouldn't be in position to make a play.
When you have Toby's elusive speed, sometimes you look for contact as it gets boring running in the open field all of the time.

Didn't he make back-to-back one-handed catches in a game and then get cut a few weeks later?
