Tony Dorsett was a big time Steelers fan after growing up in Pittsburgh and going to Pitt. Next thing you know he's a Hall of Famer as a Cowboy.

That was before free agency though. Most players go where the $$ is because their pride of being the highest paid player far outweighs the fact that they rooted for a team in the past and for the most part, there is no hometown discount for top players negotiating their 1st contract as a free agent.
