I'd like to agree with the positive outlook going forward; but we all thought the SD and Bal games were very winnable; and those turned out as turds..... However, I don't put down the point of maybe they needed more time to gel; in order to get going. We'll see I guess. But I'm not back there yet; simply from beating the clots.

Quote:Don't get me wrong, me as much as the next Jags fan would love to make the playoffs. It is just not happening. We almost blew a 17 point league in one quarter.. We are very, very poorly coached. Did you see how happy our team was after the game after beating such a crap team? I for one would not be happy if I was a player being 1-3. That win should have been a gimme to the roster we have now. We are breeding losers.
Unfortunately, you are right. Gus isn't a model of consistency. If somehow, Gus gets it together and we start stacking some wins? Gotta have hope that we can do that.
Beating Indy was a nice step forward. That's a team we should beat... our talent should run circles around their guys (and we did for 3 qtrs), and really, we won because of our talent. Chicago worries me... that game will tell us what we need to know. Can we actually beat an NFC team? Can we win on the road? Oakland is really fricking good, so I don't see us beating them.

We BARELY got by a horrid 1-3 Colts team.
We got absolutely dominated by the Chargers.. .the one team that the Colts beat.
We lost a "close" game that we failed to finish against Baltimore, who barely beat both Jags and Browns... think about that.
This daydream scenario in the OP is kind of funny. We win 1 game against a terrible team, and now suddenly not only are we slotted to win vs both Chi and Oak, but Houston's going to lose out... I mean.. there's optimism and then there's crazy.
We are not a good team. Don't let one win fool you. It was an UGLY win against a bad team.

Can't see us beating the Raiders. They're the real deal this season. I'm not even confident that we beat a depleted Chicago squad.

Quote:Looking ahead at the next 3 weeks for the AFC South I have us sitting at 3-3, beating both Chicago and Oakland, the Colts sitting at 3-4, beating the Bears and upsetting the Texans, but then dropping a road game to the Titans, the Texans also sitting at 3-4 losing their next 3 in a row at the Vikings, at home against the Colts, and at Denver, and finally the Titans also sitting at 3-4 with a loss at Miami, but then back to back wins at home against the Browns and the Colts. This just shows that this division is still completely up for grabs. Don't give up on this season yet, there are a lot of games to be played. Go Jags!
Don't be a tease and stop at in 3 weeks. Give us the rest.

Oakland is going to be tough but they certainly should beat Chicago given the buy week.

I just want to win the Oakland game to piss off La Confora.
10-04-2016, 04:33 PM
As much as I want to look that far ahead, let's just focus on getting healthy this week and beating the bears first. This team can't afford to focus on division titles just yet.
One game at a time for them...

No doubt about it. I completely agree. I am looking at it as, who are the coaches on the AFC south and how are their rosters?
Colts: Pagano is maybe .000001 better than Gus, and Colts are atrocious
Titans: Mularkey is garbage. Straight up. Titans I think may be an issue. They run the ball very well, but it is ALL they do. Jags are better IMO.
Texans: Bill o'brien is the best coach in the afc south but in terms of him as a head coach in the nfl it is undetermined. Texans roster is decent. That combo more than likely wins them the afc south but injuries can happen. Can't see the Jags beating the Texans in Houston and who knows at home.
That's 5 more games against terrible opponents. What I am hoping is OLSEN gets his head out of the dirt and takes this team over. He controls the offense. He can take the offense to score 30+ a game. Will it happen? Likely no. Olsen has his big shot here though, he knows it too.
Defense is talented enough to make plays without bobblehead Gus screwing it up. They gave up a big lead but ultimately won the game.
Ofcourse though, end of the day, everything is on Bortles. If Bortles sucks, record sucks.

Trap game for them. Must win for us. The ingredients for a Jaguars victory.

It'd be nice to go on a winning streak for once. We should beat the bears by a wide margin. Giving us confiedence going into Oakland. The Oakland game is going to be a battle of Defenses

You're joking right? You realize Oakland has one of the worst defenses in the league currently? They give up 460 yards a game...most in the NFL.

Our defense should be able to contain the Raiders if they decide to play like professionals and not street bums.
Offense should have a field day, but its never a field day - even with all those weapons...

Hopefully Chicago gets a win against Indy and their confidence gets shattered early on against us. With everyone getting healthy, we should have no problem putting them away at home. Jalen can keep Jefferey under control, especially with safety help. Prince and Colvin should be able to defend Royal and White, and our pass rush will hopefully make Hoyer throw some picks.
Honestly, this season is up to our offense. They need to get it together and put teams away when they get the ball. No more of this 3 and out, sluggish tempo, wasted opportoonies. It shouldn't be hard to score point with all of the players we have on offense.

Not sure how some here can pinpoint what kind of team OAK is. They have played THREE away games in the east (Imagine a Gus team in 3 away games). Played a tough game at home vs Atlanta. This team could easily be way better than what they are now, perception wise not record. I expect the home stand they have to get that team going a bit. They are not trash at all.

Isn't one of Del Rio's things is to lose to a team that they really should beat?
That'll be a close game. I wouldn't be shocked if Jax won that one..
My prediction:
Jags lose to the Bears
Jags beat the Raiders
watch.

Oh damn, I also realized I spelled confidence wrong.
That suprises me, well I take it back. We should win that game. Our D is too good, and our O is comparable to theirs (except they're more proficient)
