Quote:The Giants defense might have something to say about that tonight.
say what? Giants defense lol
I just saw this on ESPN's Field Yates Twitter:

"The Arizona Cardinals, who are tight to the salary cap, recently converted $2M of OL Mike Iupati's base salary into a signing bonus, creating $1.5M in cap space for the team, according to a league source. While the move creates breathing room now, Iupati's cap charges for 2017-2019 have increased by $500,000 each season."

So it seems like they are teetering on the brink of being bad and old. Never a good combination.

All that money they spent to rebuild the defense was expected to solve all of its problems. Unfortunately both starting CBs were out but the DL should be their most-improved position group.
Cards are old. They aren't like they were two seasons ago, and that's because of Palmer and the washed up defense. Bucannon, Mathieu, Pat Pete, and Brown are the only players that are studs. They need to re-build in my opinion, draft a QB or make an offer for Rivers. Collect talent from the draft.

Two of the Giants top 3 CBs didn't play. But starter Janoris Jenkins, who the Giants gave a mega contract to back in March, was able to play in the game. There's no question though that the Giants injuries at CB were a major factor in last night's game. Trevin Wade struggled mightily, especially on the outside where he's really not well equipped to play but also surprisingly in the slot. Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph got the best of him inside.

Kyle Rudolph makes starting DBs look bad, but the Giants definitely missed Eli Apple and DRC.

But how do you explain the highly rated defensive line not being able to get past backup tackles to stop backup running backs?
Quote:Letting Josh Norman go was the stupidest decision they ever made.

Hahaha....just stop.

You were one of the guys who got mad when the Panthers let him go.

I got mad because I love Josh and he's good. But he's not $15M/year good. And he had not signed his tender and was threatening to hold out - ain't nobody got time for that.

Of course we're hurting without Josh, but our secondary troubles are because we can't get crap for pressure on the QB with our front 4 (like we have done historically) so we're having to blitz a ton more than we're used to. And with the blitz we're still not getting pressure, which is leaving our already bad secondary out to dry. Josh couldn't save us right now - we are terrible.

Carson Palmer is out tomorrow night. Drew Stanton will start.

Arizona can lose again in that situation.
