The Police Officer Who Ran And Hid During A School Shooting Is On His Way To Jail

In the immediate wake of the Parkland shooting on February 14, 2018, the first thing people said was that the tragedy would not have happened “if only an armed guard was on campus.” However, it soon became clear that there was an armed guard at the Parkland school, but instead of doing his job, he ran into a secure location and hid from the active shooter while children and teachers were murdered in cold blood.

He should be punished for lying. I have no idea what the protocols called for tho. Life behind bars would be excessive. He has already been fired, and I am not sure what jailtime will really do for the victims or future school guards.
