Quote:Benn also ran out of bounds when the Jags were trying to run out the clock. I'm no fan of Gratz, but Benn is just as bad.

What does Gratz do on special teams? Probably nothing.

What does Benn do on special teams? Stop the returners.

Quote:Benn was filling in at TE.  He did pretty well blocking.

Was that the first time he played at TE?
Quote:Gotta be Gratz after what we saw Johnson do. I said it in preseason: Gratz was only retained because Colvin had to be removed from the roster for four weeks. That is more clear now because of what Johnson did.
I agree, JJ showed up in a BIG way against the Colts and has been making plays since the offseason. I still think Gratz gets the "IR" with a trumped up injury rather than outright cut; since i doubt we'd be able to find someone off the street that is as good and knows our system, even as a #5 CB, as sad as that sounds. That last point is compounded with Prince Amukamara here on a 1 year deal, i hope he's back but he may sign for huge $$$ elsewhere, so we shouldn't just be jettisoning our depth... since a position of strength can be an injury or two away from being a weakness) also we complain about Gratz in a frontline role, as a backup or deep roster guy I'm fine with him as long as he contributes on special teams, and it's a plus that he doesn't count against the salary cap since we can pay him in gum  :woot:

Also I was upset during final cuts when they got rid of BB Calhoun since he's shown up in Cleveland the past few weeks, but after seeing JJ last week i think Caldwell made the right call on that roster decision!!!

Are you saying there is no reason to cut our worst CB on the active roster despite the fact that we have clearly seen why he was benched last week?

The Jaguars found a better CB somewhere in America named Josh Johnson because they knew Dwayne Gratz can easily be upgraded. Gratz has done some good things in his career but if Johnson is better as most of us think, it is pretty obvious who David Caldwell should cut to make room for Aaron Colvin.

So we found an American citizen in Canada and brought him back home.
