Hello all, first time posting in weeks because of board.

Anyway, interesting scenario here, lets say the Browns decide to trade with the tacks for the #5 spot in the draft to take Trubisky....how about we take him at #4 and hold him ransom? Its risky but would be as simple as them giving us the #5 pick and an extra 4th or something for him. I'm sure there'll be a few teams willing to part with picks for him.

Why not just trade with Cleveland for the same deal they would have given Tennessee at 5?

That would ideal but would depend on how much the titans are getting from them. As Tom said recently it all depends on the value of the player available when you pick at 12.

This. That's all you have to do really. That's the only way they can guarantee they get their guy and we don't so something like that.
Caldwell should have called every team by now and let them know whatever they're going to offer the Titans for #5, they should be offering to us. Trading the same picks for 4 is way better than trading those picks for 5.
I'd rather stay put and draft Solomon Thomas or Jamal Adams than lose value in a trade down.

If the deal is good enough for the Titans to consider it would be good enough for the Jags...

That would be based on the assumption that their board looks the same.

There is a tipping point where the quantitive value of the picks will outweigh one pick, so it depends on what the trade is for me.
Sasha Brown from the Browns will more then likely rather trade with the Jags then the Titans, he has a working relationship with Jags front office, he left Jax for Clev, if its close he will rather help us then Tenn.

This is a good point. Hopefully if we trade, it happens like this
I think they're downplaying interest at the QB position and people just assume it's Trubisky. That he's the clear cut QB of this class.

I think they'll sit tight at 12th overall and select DeShaun Watson instead. Proven winner. Solid prospect. Hard to pass up on his intangibles.

Trubisky is going to end up getting drafted by Arizona right after Watson to replace Palmer at some point this year or at least be groomed properly by Arians.

Watson is the only one I'd be worried about going to Houston. I'd be more than happy if Cleveland takes him and Houston gets Kizer

Exactly. My thoughts exactly. I hope this QB class turns out like the 2010 or 2011 class where we traded up to get Gabbert. That was a terrible first round QB class outside of Newton who was the clear cut prospect. But we saw a crazy run at the position and a lot of guys got over drafted like Locker, Ponder and Gabbert.

Trubisky, Mahomes and Kizer could all be drafted in the first round tonight but none of them make me scared or cringe as much as the prospect of seeing Watson playing for the tinhorns. I feel like he's actually more NFL ready than most teams and scouts want to admit. And I think he's capable of at least being a game manager for a team like the houston tinhorns where they can lean on the ground game and defense.

With our corners, I'd worry about just about every QB other than Watson.  Watson is likely to throw a lot of picks in the NFL.
