He's been fined or suspended a dozen times for this kind of thing, he should be happy if he's allowed to play next season. Dude should never step foot on a football field again.
The dude is a cheap shot artist and could have paralyzed Doyle with that helmet lunge. Then, coming off the field smiling and blowing kisses to the Colts fans only sealed his fate.
Perhaps he and AB can carpool to the local sports bar to watch the NFL games throughout the rest of the season; after all, AB knows what it's like to be concussed by a Burfict cheap shot.

Given his history of garbage behavior on the field, I’m not surprised. The league is adamant about protecting players and a headhunter like Burfict has no place in today’s NFL.
Meh... Didn't see anything that bad in that play.
I guess because he left his feet? Once again... meh
Well deserved. Doesn’t belong on an NFL roster. Maybe in 1975. Maybe even in 2009. But not in 2019.

Hes a definite cheap shot artist and I have no respect for him. It just seemed odd to get an 11 game suspension. Was it because it was ,Burfict or was helmet to helmet being looked at like that.
NFL statement
NFL vice president of football operations Jon Runyan's wrote a letter to Burfict explaining the decision.
"There were no mitigating circumstances on this play," it said. "Your contact was unnecessary, flagrant and should have been avoided. For your actions, you were penalized and disqualified from the game. Following each of your previous rule violations, you were warned by me and each of the jointly-appointed officers that future violations would result in escalated accountability measures. However, you have continued to flagrantly abuse rules designated to protect yourself and your opponents from unnecessary risk."
Agree with every word.

He's had multiple incidents like this, the last of which resulted in a 5 game suspension I think. Certainly, the punishments can only escalate from there.

His punk [BLEEP] can sit at home and watch the rest of the season on television while NOT collecting a paycheck.

No complaints here. Is this the NFL actually punishing someone?
Lol!! Just saw Burfict had travelled to London with the Raiders, now flying back to Oakland!!!
Burfict is a scum bag, but if this guy played in like the 60's-80's this guy would of been a damn legend.
Deserves it. He's a [BLEEP] head.
He's a piece of [BLEEP]. Good to know we won't have to worry about him now in our game with them this year.

He has had multiple run-ins with the league office for past hits that put players at risk, and was warned that penalties would only get more severe in the future.
There was nothing incidental about that hit. He is a cheap shot artist, and that's saying it as nicely as I can.
The league cannot talk about concern for player safety and act with lenience in a situation like this, it makes them look hypocritical.
Frankly, I don't even hope he makes it on an XFL roster, should that league actually get moving. He is that much of a danger to guys on the field.

what was it shag used to say? WoW.
Doyle was on his knees, back to Burfict. Even if he's on his way to his feet, two hands shoves him to the ground or otherwise downs him as a runner.
The play was live, sure, there was absolutely no reason to be running forehead first into a guy in that position.
I was amazed that Doyle stood right up. That could have ended much more horribly.

Throughout his career, he's made a habit of playing to injure, or at the very least playing without caring if he injures others. He's been suspended a dozen times and fined more than that for unnecessary roughness, and at some point either you get it, you don't, or you don't care. Burfict doesn't seem to care, and actually seems to enjoy taking other players out of the game. This is nothing new for him. Back in college at ASU, he was a cheap-shot artist who hit guys late while targeting their heads and knees. He rarely (if ever) expresses remorse, and as we saw on Sunday, isn't above taunting the players he takes out while they're on the ground. Bottom line: there's intent to injure and an apparent joy in causing that injury. That makes him a danger to others and more than warrants sending him home for the rest of the year, if not the rest of time.

The suspension is the culmination of his previous suspensions and fines, basically his repeat offender status, and that he has no regard for his fellow players' safety. I say expel him from the league. He doesn't deserve the privilege of being an NFL player.
the nfl is right to susspnd him,but one thing bothers me about it. a patriots player had a helmelt to helmet hit on bills qb,got a penttly, but no susspension. so what was the difference?
I've seen way more vicious hits in the 80s and 90s. Way more vicious. And then after they'd stand over them and taunt them.
This play gets a big fat meh. And back then they weren't getting the bajillions of dollars they get now..
I just think.. if you're willing to play a contact sport for millions - you take the bad with the good.

And those guys dont know their own names now. The game is different from your leather helmet days gramps.
