I did ctrl+f for "Wash" and didn't see it anywhere in your post.

I find that hard to believe!

More zone means fewer players running with receivers having their backs to the play.  If anything it should improve chances for the DBs to diagnose run plays more quickly.
They diagnosed the blocking pretty good!

Shoot, you are liable to find any number of godawful typos in my posts these days.
Legend has it if you listen closely you can still hear Bonnafon and McCaffery gashing through the defense for laughable gains.
If we didn’t turn the ball over 3 times, we would have won. We can’t win with 3 turnovers like that... the good thing is that we almost overcame it. When was the last time we could ever think of doing that?

Of course you are absolutely right.

To his credit, Minshew took the blame for the three fumbles, demonstrating leadership, personal responsibility, and an unwillingness to throw teammates under the bus in the post game press conference.
The run defense was absolutely pathetic. At this point, we gotta be thinking about upgrading the NT, LB and FS positions on defense as well as replacing Ramsey at CB. On offense, I still say we need to upgrade the LT position, cut Norwell and slide Robinson inside to LG. I just love it that we finally have a QB who can keep us in games, no matter how bad the defense plays. Minshew was awesome.
This loss can be summarized in 2 quick points

Points off turnovers

Chunk plays by the Carolina run game

On a side note, Norwell looks like one of those "vacation" free agent signings. How much dead cap will he create if we cut him next off season? Dude is a legit bum.
I would be remiss if I did not give kudos to Abry Jones

Throughout the preseason and early part of this season, as a fanbase we have bemoaned the lack of depth (real or imagined) on this team. In fact, you could argue the run defense in todays game exposes that lack of quality depth along the defensive front.

However, Jones made a HUGE play on that fourth and one late in the game. His pursuit and penetration enabled us to stop the otherwise unstoppable McCaffrey, giving the Jaguars another chance to win the game.

Good job Abry!

They can dump Norwell after this season (post June cut) and only have a $3m dead cap hit, saving $11.5m.

Or they could dump him after the season (pre June cut) with a $9m dead cap hit and only $5.5m in savings.

Either option is good, but obviously the post June cut would be far greater $$ savings wise. Either way, hes got to go, or he better take a HUGE pay cut. Dude is terrible.
Any word on O Shag Hennessey's knee?

Probably wont hear anything for another day or two, but it didn't look good. He buckled from non contact. Tried to plant and just went down grabbing his knee. He had open space to run as well and just dropped. I think it's probably safe to say a ligament tore in that knee.

Pretty big blow to an already weak TE group.
It was an exciting game, for sure. The aggravating thing is the run defense. We need better play from Myles Jack, or we need to replace him.

It's gratifying to be able to move the ball so easily on as good a defense as the Panthers.

The turnovers were kind of fluky. But the penalties! And the run defense! Yuck! I'm wondering, if we trade Ramsey for some draft picks, maybe we can use a few of them to start a makeover of our defense, because, while it seems like we have a lot of talent on that side of the ball, we're missing something. Maybe better safety play and linebacker play. Maybe a big hog of a run stuffer in the middle.

Here I am already looking toward next year, when we're one game behind in the division with 11 games to play. The Colts beating the Chiefs last night was bad for us, though.

Good got there first and took out the FB. Jones then cleaned it up.

He's gone or taking a cut. Need to see if Richardson can play guard or not. Then look to find replacements for the other 2 interior OL spots or move Linder to OG and find a C.

A pay cut won't make him a better player.  I'm pretty sure he's gone after the season.
Exactly, pointless keeping a terrible player for depth that you wouldn't even want on the field because he's cheap.

I said before the season if we get through the first 6 games 3-3 I'd be happy, that was before Foles went down and I think if we can beat NO in Jax Sunday I'll be over the moon we're 3-3 given the adversity we've faced.

After that we have three very winnable games against the (currently) 0-5 Bengals and 0-4 Jets plus a Houston team I believe we'd have tied then beaten in OT had we not been going into a short week. If we go into the bye 6-3, we have Foles returning and go into a match up with a Colts team whose bye was four weeks earlier.

I agree with most of the points made, we need to tighten up on defense as far as the run game goes, knock the stupid penalties on the head on both side of the ball and sort the Ramsey distraction out.
Linebackers and safeties were absent, continually missing tackles, out of position, or just getting abused by a blocker. I was excited when we drafted Myles Jack, but he has not developed into the MLB role.
Quote:4.  Quincy Williams-I didn't see him make any plays.

That right there may be the key to the loss.

For all the speed we supposedly have in our LB corps, Caff ran right past everyone.

The fumbles hurt, but the defense was embarrassed.
