Yeah let’s fire our brand new head coach after 5 games. Jets fans are a different level of stupid, much like most new-Yorkers i’ve Encountered in general.

Serious question, how old are you? Your posting seriously reminds me of things I'd post when I was 19 and look back at now and cringe.
It is indeed common for a segment of NY fans to swing rapidly from one pole to another with their opinions on players and coaches.

They aren't the only fanbase that does this and it's actually becoming pretty common elsewhere as the years pass and the instant gratification era gains momentum.

Serious question, why would I give a flying [BLEEP] what you think of what I post? If you don’t like it, don’t read it. Could you understand that when you were 19?
They aren't wrong but they should have never hired him

About the answer I expected

Anyway. Living here in New York I listen to a lot of New York sports radio, and fans around here tend to be very impatient if there isnt instant success. But trust me, if Darnold gets back and the Jets win a few with the offense looking good they will be right back on Gase's side.

Were they ever on Gase's side? He was a horrible hire in the opinion of most people
This year has been a real eye-opener for Gase so far.

I have a few friends who are Jets fans who liked the hire. Thought he would help the development of Darnold.

Lol. Don’t worry, I don’t give a hoot what the yank has got to say about me. I’ve met enough of them to know that they are a little thin in the common sense department.

Either way, what the hell do they expect playing with their 3rd QB. I am sure if Darnold was in there they wouldn't be as bad

Don't give a hoot?  The yank?  Is that what the kids are saying these days?

Hiring him in the first place was a head-scratcher. Making him the de facto GM was the sort of move that makes you scratch your head so hard you hit skull. I don't think he'll pull a Bobby Petrino and be gone during the season, but at the rate he's going, one and done wouldn't be a surprise. Choosing him over Mike McCarthy didn't make sense at the time, and still doesn't. The only defense I've ever heard of the Gase hire came from Mike Florio, who argued that Gase was able to survive a couple years of Peyton Manning, and if Manning thought you weren't keeping up with him, he could very easily have you fired. The fact that Gase worked with him effectively for a couple of years suggests that Gase is at least mentally capable of handling the job.

Now, if you believe the rumor that was circulating around Denver radio stations when Fox and his staff were fired, Manning supposedly had a pretty big hand in that happening, so there's that as kind of a counterpoint to Florio's point above. Regardless, Gase was a terrible hire by the Jets, and I think they're seeing what the Dolphins (and maybe the Broncos?) saw: X and O smarts don't make you field smart.
In 1995, Rich Kotite started the season 1-3, the lone victory was a week 3 win against the Jaguars, in their inaugural season and 3rd game ever.
The 1995 Jets finished 3-13.
The 1995 Jaguars finished 4-12.

In Kotite's second season, 1996, the Jets went 1-15.
Kotite's combined record with the Jets was 4-28.

So far, Kotite > Gase.

On a happy note, it appears that Darnold is back.

Just look at his posting history. He once used the term "poop juice" 23 but has the mentality of a 16 year old. Hes a clown, but his posts do give me entertainment.
